I went to xbox live and downloaded it that way.

It's good. Graphically on par with Black Ops but I don't think as good as crysis 2. I've been breezing through it on hard without any difficulty.

Great game for $20 and a full 1000 gamer score to boot.

That's complete nonsense, Crysis is graphically leaps and bounds above Black Ops, not to mention the physics are on a whole other level. Between the visuals, effects, and physics, Crysis is generations beyond Black Ops, infact, Black Ops was actually a step down in graphics compared to MW2. To suggest that Crysis is on par with Black Ops is absolutely absurd.

I call em as I see em.

I'm a few more levels in. The colors look washed out but a solid framerate makes things doable.

Rage187, I'm sorry if my post was a little harsh, but I'm not sure we are looking at the same game. Granted, I'm playing the PS3 version, and you're playing the 360 version, but I seriously doubt there is a significant difference between the two.

Not only is this the best looking console game I've personally ever seen, but it also is one of the most vibrant and colorful games I've seen as well, so your comment "the color's look washed out" is perplexing, as I see it as being the farthest thing away from that. Perhaps it's the difference between our TV's that's making you think the colors are washed out, hard to say for sure.

I'm sorry, but I don't see how anyone could think that Crysis is "on par" with Black Ops, no way.

The ps3 runs it at 1080p.

TV wise, I play on an Epson 8350 projector throwing 200" image. So, little things tend to stick out more.

Not the native res, that is upscaled. I think the native res is 1024x720 with temporal AA.

There seems to be some confusion in regrads to that, becasue I have seen several different anwsers put forth. My own personal opinion is that the game developers use a varity of resolutions to run games at, then once the final game is done and running on the consoles, it is the consoles job to upscale that image to whatever it maybe, 720P, 1080i, or 1080P.

thoughts so far?

It's absolutely incredible. Granted, this is my first time playing Crysis, but the game is absolutely stunning. How they got this to run is beyond understanding. The PS3 version runs smoothly for the most part, it does get choppy at times in heavily wooded areas or when theirs alot of action going on, but that's a small price to pay for such a beautiful game.

We are seeing a whole new level of graphics and physics with games like this and Rage, as well as others, and games like Crysis make you realize that regardless of how long ago they were released, the 360 and PS3 have alot of potential still and their's no reasons to rush out any new consoles. Let's get all we can get out of the current one's before thinking of the next generation.

Considering the specs of the 360 and it's lawl 512mb of ram I'd say Crysis made out very well indeed.

Just what the hell are PC games DOING choking PC's with twice or quadruple the power?

My brother played Crysis on Medium settings, with a higher resolution than on 360, with his X1600. That's slower than the 360 GPU. PC gamers never had to choke their PC unless they wanted to. "Can it run Crysis" and Crysis choking GPUs for years after release was simply in the highest settings where those who could afford to wanted to see the most realistic looking PC game of its time.

The GeForce 7600+ and Radeon X16+ had no problems at all with Crysis at around Medium settings, and came out in 2005 when the 360 did and are weaker than the 360. It's simply a desire for more for those that can afford it.

Crysis can still choke a PC, and the modders at CryDev have even taken it to the next level. Rendering a lot of dynamic vegetation take a huge toll on performance.

If you ever get to check out a fully modded Crysis played on a high-end PC, you'll understand just how far ahead of its time CryEngine2 was (and IMO, still is).

Here is just one example:

Wow, never played crysis. Not even on my PC. Is it still the system pusing standard? For PC I mean.

Is Crysis still a beautiful game? Yes. Is it still the "system-pushing standard?" No. There are a handful of games more graphically demanding than Crysis. Metro 2033, Cryostasis, and The Witcher 2 come to mind.

So, people in this thread that Dled it liked it. I think I have to DL this tonight and play! $19.99 to buy in the marketplace.

After that, I get Crysis 2 and some other games.

It's still $20? That's absolutely absurd

It wasn't even worth that much when it came out.
