Cryptocoin Mining?

What was it you're bitching about again? 🙄
I got 4k confirmed and 1k unconfirmed (5k total) in the same time frame mining on suchcoins with 2.4MH/s. 3 times bigger hashrate should not equal 6 times the earnings. That is what I am complaining about.

I'm a millionaire!!! I have over a million PANDA!!

Fast pool has miners with bigger hash rate so they get a higher percentage I think? Regardless I stopped mining this afternoon. Giving my computer a break while I figure out what to mine.

2.4MH/s out of ~1GH/s pool versus 800KH/s out of 8GH/s pool.

DO ... THE ... MATH.

(There's also the FACT that luck and variable block rewards come into play, as previously mentioned)

Well that's a crap thing to do.

I'm seriously tempted to outright CLOSE the KDC pool shortly.

Reasons (in no particular order):
- Given the recent misguided fork changes which have seriously crippled the coin
- Given the capitulation of the devs to community pressures (which caused the above)
- Given continued bad decisions all around
- Given the apparent inclusion of certain "community members" all of a sudden in rather important decision making for guiding KDC's future
- And most importantly, I just found out that there is now an "Official Pool" which is sponsored/blessed by the devs (well at least they're considering removing the block finder bonuses ...)

Yeah, I'm rather pissed.

The BTC/LTC ratio seems to have spiked last night, going from a steady ~0.0220 to ~0.0260. Any ideas why? Are people converting their other alt-coins over to litecoin?

According to their pool, in the last 24 hours they hit 56 blocks for a total of 11871284.024234 dogecoins. Their current pool hashrate is on the order of 8GH/s, of which you comprise 800KH/s, or approximately 1/10000 of the entire pool. Given they run PROP payouts, 1/10000 of the entire pool hash rate for the total amount over 24 hours equals approximately 1187.12 dogecoins. You also said you mined for 20 hours, not 24 hours, so that would be approximately 5/6 of that amount, which should yield roughly 989 dogecoins in that timespan.

These calculations also do NOT take into account any fluctuations for pool hashrates, difficulty and luck during that time period, and the payout also takes into account that dogecoin has a random VARIABLE block reward.

In other words, at 800KH/s, for what the pool hit, you are pretty much bang on for your payout.

I do have to say though, that must be some pretty bad luck. I've been mining with Dogehouse @ ~700k and I routinely get 4, sometimes 5 payouts per day of ~500 DOGE each. Looks like roughly every 3rd day, I get 5 payouts instead of 4. So I'm averaging ~2150 DOGE per 24h period.

It's not bad luck, I've been getting shafted by fast-pool even when I had 3+MH/s pointed at it. I guess fast-pool sucks if you don't have at least a dozen MH/s. I jumped on there because of no pool fees, but ironically it turns out I get much higher yields on pools with fees.

Yeah, I'm rather pissed.

How about that "community member" that basically changed the code ahead of the devs, got people to download it so miners could continue to mine their KDC fork on their pool, and then the devs blessed it.

Wow. Nothing like creating your own fork at a low diff to suck up coins and then have the devs bless your creation.

I use the term "Dev" loosely by the way. Sounds like to me they are 1st time programmers trying to tackle more than they can handle.

That too. I am in strong belief that the original dev of the coin has long since abandoned the coin.

That particular pool op felt he was doing everybody a favor. Yeah, thanks for the fix. The devs obviously didn't care, otherwise they would have checkpointed out, rolled back and orphaned out all the forked blockchains. It's amateur hour.

So here's my silly idea: I'm in the northeast, where it's still frigid cold, and I'll need heat for at least the next 3 months. My oil heat is so expensive that electric heat is more efficient, even at the high electricity rates we pay. So every bit of heat a mining rig generates offsets the boiler. So if anyone wants to increase their profitability by cutting their power bill and having me host their rig in my frigid house, maybe we can work something out. 🙂

Ha, I am in the same boat (CT). My basement mancave is soooo toasty thanks to the 4 270s giving off plenty of heat. It's even more comfortable than the rest of the damn house 😉

Btc-china...

Wouldn't that only affect the price of Bitcoin, not Litecoin? I don't understand why the ratio is up to make you get more bitcoins per litecoin?

I'm waiting for the right time to exchange my litecoins into bitcoins, so I'm wondering if something is at work to further affect the BTC/LTC ratio or if it's now time to do the exchange? How will BTC-china affect litecoins?

Apparently BTC-China just enabled direct purchasing of LTC with fiat, as opposed to only purchasing BTC and having to exchange to LTC later. The owner of BTC-China is the brother of the LTC developer, so there's an interesting "brothers" story that they're trying to portray with LTC as the "brother" of BTC, or "silver" to "gold" like they are usually described.

Anyone use lucid virtu with their rig? I don't have a dedicated mining machine, just a gaming rig. Supposedly their tech will let you access the dedicated GPU through the iGPU port.

Ideally I'd like to let the dGPU mine away while I use the iGPU on the desktop without slowdown, but have it automatically switch to the dGPU while gaming without having to swap cables.

So for giggles I switched a single rig (5k kH/s) to auroracoin and found two blocks in an hour. =O

I think I'm gonna switch off immediately, luck like that doesn't last.

I'd love to be able to do the same! If anyone has a good guide or more info on it, please PM me.

Solo mining!?

Color me clueless then.

They started trading LTC today, which I assumed would be the reason for LTC rallying. Usually when a huge exchange picks up any altcoin, its long-term legit factor goes up and people tend to try to ride the wave.

Plus LTC's value rides a lot on BTC's overall health and with the waves of good news these past few days, LTC's bound to bounce back any time...

Yes. I made the same face when I checked the wallet deposit, it followed the "WTF?" face.

I would have rather stuck gold on a lottery ticket, but I'll take it..

Congrats - that's a VERY nice day of mining 🙂
