Cryptocoin Mining?

Dev set an IPCO for a relatively simple coin. Its just like any other alt coin out there, scrypt with kgw.

He has IPCO in 3 tiers.

From the beginning it looked fishy, Dev was offering a bounty for anyone who put the link (of the coin) in their signature.

Launch time comes around, gets delayed.

Launch time part 2, dev is not in the IRC, nothing.

Launch just doesn't happen...

Then he posts this:

69.5 BTC
LOL and I thought the developers of pandacoin were bad.

Guess I'm still sticking with MAX for now. With the diff falling, I'm getting ~200 coins a day which comes out to around $150/day.

Not seeing any viable alternatives right now that are paying higher.

I don't know what the hell kind of mining setup you're using, but with my primary rig Max is LESS profitable than scrypt mining at current difficulties.

I use this calc to determine profitability: http://dwarfpool.com/max/calc

I get about ~10Gh/s on my farm when mining MAX. But I use 9Gh/s on the above calc to show my expected earnings to get a bit more accurate estimate to account for rejects and power consumption. As of right now, it shows $137/day for 9Gh/s.

MAX for me has been great. Lower power consumption and less heat. I beat the top coins listed on coinwarz daily.

You ever get my PM a couple weeks back?

Wow yes please I'm definitely interested in it. I have reference 290s so it will probably work?

you can give it a try http://sterlingdesktops.com/pub/lsadl/lsadl-0.1.2-beta.tar.xz
I don't distribute binaries
tar -xJvf lsadl-0.1.2-beta.tar.xz && cd lsadl-0.1.2-beta
./autogen.sh && ./configure --with-adl-includes=/dir_with_ADL_headers
make -j4

./lsadl [number if multiple cards] &

get the ADL_SDK from here http://developer.amd.com/tools-and-sdks/graphics-development/display-library-adl-sdk/

I got a 270x up and running in my old rig. It's only getting 1500 cpm with pts. Thought it would be better than that. Maybe I have to switch to linux? Pretty quickly jumped from .7 to .9 PTS though I'm just waiting till I get 1 so I can pull it out of the pool I'm mining then I'll mess with something else

Thanks so much!!

I'm a linux noob so please bear with me...is this all one line I have to type in terminal:
"tar -xJvf lsadl-0.1.2-beta.tar.xz && cd lsadl-0.1.2-beta
./autogen.sh && ./configure --with-adl-includes=/dir_with_ADL_headers
make -j4"

OR is it 3 separate lines?

Then after the above I type in "./lsadl [number if multiple cards] &" with "3" since I have 3 cards?

Can someone help me get PTS going? I've registered on ypool.net and have some shares going. But, the only miner I've been able to successfully launch is jhprotominer. However, I don't know how to run the AV optimization command for it through the bat file so I am getting subpar performance on my 4.2GHz i7 4770k.

I've tried yam-yvg1900-M7m-win64-haswell and followed all the guides, but I continue to get error 1300 even after attempting to grant lock pages in memory administrator rights.

:$

Even went on the ypool wiki and followed:
The "-F" parameter is used for fine-tuning the miner (set it to "0" to fine-tune). It uses 32 different algorithms of differing memory access patterns, etc., to figure out what results in the best performance for your machine specifically. This can take up to an hour or more to complete. When it is finished, it will state "fine tuning: COMPLETE, AV=#". This number is the algorithm it picked as the best performing. For subsequent runs, you can specify the AV the miner chose instead of "0".
Windows
jhprotominer -o mining.ypool.net -u <LOGINNAME.WORKERNAME> -p <PASSWORD> [-t <THREADS>] {-F #]
Options are as described above
When I run the bat file, it says that both -av and -f (fine tuning) are unknown commands...

Hmm, trying to run either doge or redd coin with my 270x and with either one bfgminer is telling me I'm doing 450 khs but the pool sites are telling me I'm doing 70-100 khs...

Well for Pandacoin, the devs trusted Wolong too much.

The devs themselves are okay since most of them are the devs for UNO.
Except the devs would rather spend their time trying to fight Bitcointalk than get something done to maybe redeem themselves. And apparently they dumped 6 months too early lol. I don't know but the way they're presenting themselves is just dumb and not helping at all.

I gave up on mining PTS. High difficulty combined with rotten pool luck means I can do better by mining something else. E.g. I can just mine DOGE and use that to get BTC --> PTS.

Guess 1GH and beeeeer will each get 0.03 PTS "free" from me as I'll never hit the auto payment threshold.

R = 3+0(2.9%)
HW = 555 / 80%... Guessing this is it now that I know what that means
Couldn't find a WU?

HW means hardware errors. So there is your problem right there. Your number of hardware errors is way too high, it should be 0 or less than 1% so I'd say the initial pool dashboard hashrate is pretty accurate and reflects your effective hashrate.

Well I totally screwed myself (timewise).

I thought I'll setup ubuntu and dual boot so I could test the protoshares thing in Linux. I downloaded the latest ubuntu and put it on my USB drive and when I was trying to boot into the USB drive it required several tries with hanging and blank screens etc. I should have took that as a warning and stopped but I tried a few times and finally it succeeded and I was able to install it. It's been a little while since I've dual booted so I wasn't thinking too hard about it and setup ubuntu. Well, the boot system changed my 8.1 so it doesn't even ask which OS you want to boot into and I can't even boot back into ubuntu because it just hangs. I tried reinstalling ubuntu to no avail.

Finally I realized that my only copies of windows are on my desktop HDD and I deleted my 8.1 usb bootable drive to install ubuntu. I found an old 8 disk but trying to "repair" it said something about the files being locked. My only serial number I could scrounge up was 8.1 and that won't work on the 8 disk.

My windows serials are also only on my HDD but luckily after quite a while I was able to find one. Getting the .iso image takes forever even directly from MS it's coming at like 0.5 Mb/s so it's not even near my internet speed for whatever reason.

Luckily I've backed my wallets etc. regularly so the only thing lost in the end is time but it sure has complicated things. After spending a couple days tinkering with a new MB which was apparently DOA and now this I'll be happy to get everything back up and just let it run. Then again I'm sure I'll get bored and start tinkering again soon. 🙂

Once I get everything running I'll try install it again, I've read that certain USB drives have issues etc. but this one works with Windows. This time I'll disconnect my other drives so it can't mess with the boot tables, and then I can just choose the HDD to boot from if I want to switch (what I have usually done). What was going to be an hour little test run turned into a 24hr ordeal.

Backup everything is the morale here. (including windows disks, serials, wallets, etc.)

I was planning for a fresh reinstall anyway, I just would have preferred to be ready to do it vs. almost having huge issues getting the PC back up and running.
