Cryptocoin Mining?

Sad day indeed, like a proud warrior..

But why is it 90+ temps, my reference one is 3 years old, still pumping out 386kH/s, 45% fanspeed 75C tops.

Don't tell me you didn't clean out the dust once in awhile. 😛 Poor card!

I don't have a 5850, but I do have a non-reference Sapphire 5870 mining 24/7 at stock speeds. Even with the case open and at 100% fan speed, the temps easily pass 90*C in the winter with ambient temps less than 18*C. I had to undervolt it to get the temps under control.

We're on block 65580. There's still over 34000 blocks left to go though. They'll get solved that quickly?!

Hash rate has jumped to over 65 GH/s. Most likely early February if prices hold. Late February if prices crash again.

Anyone know how does the BAMT pool file setting work for dogecoin, will it be like (theres no http)
stratum+tcp://stratum3.dogehouse.org:943 -u username123 -p pw123
or
stratum+tcp://username123w123@stratum3.dogehouse.org:943
?

I was told to try the former on top, but I'm not getting anything now into my dogehouse acct...

Wow, talk about a supreme lurker

The first option should work. Have you set up the proper workers in your Dogehouse account?

I'm out of Doge but I am enjoying the Nxt rise. Up about 270% from my initial investment.

With the volume that's going on over at Bter I wouldn't be surprised if BTC-E consider it soon. Also Vircurex contacted one of the devs a few days ago about adding it.

I think if you go over ~30,000 TC your rig needs more than 4GB ram.. as I recalled seeing that from another user.

Forgot to mention I have 8GB in this machine, Q6600 @2.4GHz (stock), power supply is a 3 year old Corsair 550W. I'm using the same settings as before, more or less:

-I 13 -g 2 --thread-concurrency 8192

Do you have your monitor plugged into the card by any chance? That could easily lower your hashrate by 50kH/s even if you're not doing anything demanding on the card.

Run the shortcut to litecoin-qt as:
"C:\Program Files (x86)\Litecoin0.8\litecoin-qt.exe" -datadir=XXXXXX

(ie.)Change the shortcut properties to include that -datadir with XXXXXX being the full path of the directory where you want the blockchain data.

You can do that with other wallets and blockchains as well.
I just tried running Dogecoin-QT with the following shortcut but Dogecoin wallet doesn't load at all.

E:\Cryptocurriencies\dogecoin\dogecoin-qt.exe -datadir=E:\Cryptocurriencies\dogecoin\Roaming

Edit: Apparently I had to manually create the Roaming folder.

I wonder why the 7970 idle alongside it has such a big effect. How far apart are they? Is the 7970 blocking the airflow? I'm curious about this one if it's similar with my crossfire. I'm getting risers this week so I'll probably put a 4 card configuration with two outside and I'm thinking I'll put one custom card with one reference inside the box, and 1 of each outside of it hanging somehow.

I think I'll look for a riser cable too and just hang the 7970 off the side. http://www.amazon.com/Express-Adapte...ords=pci+riser

Ah-ha, bingo - before it was the secondary adapter so no monitor was plugged in.

DOGE is soaring again. To the moon!

Luckily I just cancelled my sell order in time. Otherwise, I would've sold 200k at 240 satoshi.

Apparently it's at 270 satoshi over here.. I hate you Coinedup.

I'm going to build a quadfire homage to my new favorite GPU company when we get off this rocket.

What's the preferred setup for 290/X quadfire? Some sort of Z87 board with quad xfire/SLI capable PCI-e? I think I'd either need to go dual PSU or a 1500W PSU for that kind of setup, and definitely water cool...
