link, 1.1gb

I just got done playing and I was very impressed. It moved from my "maybe" list to my "must buy" list :Q

Make sure to download the latest physx software, it is linked on the download page.

Seems interesting. The website doesn't seem to do a great job explaining the game tho. Maybe I'll give this demo a shot.

Hrm, I like the concept! It sounds like an FPS / murder mystery adventure, with playable flashbacks in which you control other characters to change the outcome. I'm definitely going to give the demo a shot.

Plus, if it's done right, nothing's spookier than an abandoned ship.

So if I need the software to run the game, and I have an ATI card, but the software's only for NVidia cards...that means I can't play this game? That makes no sense.

You should be able to play it without the Physx enhancements, like any other Physx title.

So for anyone who's played the full game.. is it worth the $30? I've been thinking about picking it up but there are lots of mixed reviews. Some seem to love it, others not so much. One of the main complaints i've heard is that it's slow paced. That really isn't too much of a concern for me, but if it's slow paced plus boring then that's something entirely different.

Not working on win7 for me.. Either it's the OS or the Nvidia drivers considering they suggest the beta drivers on the download site. Anyone on Win7 get it to work?

It's a very linear adventure game with combat thrown in only to give you the worry of dieing. Story was boring me, though the flashbacks can be cool.

Downloaded and installed it. Either gives me a Cryostasis has stopped working error message or the screen turns all black and stays there indefinitely. I can push escape and see the same error message closing out when the desktop re-appears.

Does this really not work on ATI cards?

WTF - in this day and age - it SHOULD support XP x64/Vista64!:

"This product does not support Windows 95/98/ME/2000/NT or XP x64/Vista x64"

Here's a link to 50% off the full version [14.99] - downloadable only - ends today. :(

http://www.gameagent.com/store...ge/productID.119643500

edited - the download site states not supported - but other sites indicate it does work under x64..

edited part deux:

Installed the basic Aegis Physx drivers and had no problems running it on Vista64 Premium other than slow frame rates [poor optimization?]. Not too bad of a game...shoulda picked it up for $15.00 :)

Just played for a few minutes on Vista 64. Ran with no problems (other than slow frames - settings were too high).

Same here. Retail game working on Vista64 using Nvidia Beta 185.81 and latest Physics drivers but the game does run slow. It needs to be patched/optimised or something.
Gameplay is different and interesting. Atmospheric for sure but I don't know.
If they fix it to be more fluid it would make me like it a lot more.

crashed on vista 64 bit. I don't know if it's the os problem, but the computer restarted after few minutes. I guess my pc can't handle it.

I am worried then, because I only have a Q6700 + 6GB + 8800GT with Vista64.

I don't like the speed/feel of the game, but the environment is alright. Might play more later.

Seems really interesting...have to do some more testing w/wo physx and different video choices, I'm getting min. 7fps in parts. I really wanted to buy this game, especially since it's only $30 retail, but if I can't run it at any decent settings I may as well skip it.

Just installed it on my machine with ATI card and then got "This application has failed to start because PhysXLoader.dll was not found."

Might be a good game for all I know, but it smacks of failure that they haven't already ironed out obvious stuff like this.

Did you install the latest physx software from nvidia? You need it even if you dont have an nvidia card.

Thanks schneider, my bad for not knowing that I guess. It didn't dawn on me that there was any point to installing nvidia software for an ATI rig. I'm gonna read up on it before I would choose to do that though.
