All I can say is that people need to understand that CE3 has subroutines that strip out graphical processing based upon the system it is running on. It is not as if CE3 is a new, different engine built from scratch. CE3 is CE2+ upgrades, including the ability to "mix down" the levels you build into a format that the consoles can process. Anything that CE2 can do, CE3 can do. This is not the same as saying anything that CE2 can do on PC, CE3 can do on console.

So it is not a fair comparison at all, and the person making the vid wasted their time.

Pretty neat. Through the use of toggling rather subtle effects, you can get a game that looks almost as good as Crysis on consoles.

Guy who made the video should reword what he said. It's not a CE3 vs. CE2 shootout. It's CE3 ON CONSOLES vs. CE2 on PC.

If you were actually playing the game and not just watching a video, the differences wouldn't be noticeable. Especially when played on a tv from further away than compared to a computer monitor. Crysis was said to be impossible to put on consoles, but it looks like they were able to with their new engine.

The most obvious difference is the resolution though. There's an annoying amount of aliasing on the console version vs. the PC.

The pop-in would be noticeable, as I expect would be things like water and distant graphics.
Hell, the pop-in was noticeable on PC at lower settings and the console video looked as bad, if not worse.

I didn't post the video to conclude that CE3 has been "Dumbed down" by consoles. I just thought, as I said, its interesting to see the differences.

I know know full well what CE3 can do.

The draw distance is terrible on consoles... The rocks and jungle in the not-so-far-away distance look really bad.

Reminds me of Oblivion... when I exited the first dungeon and saw how ugly the distance looks like, I couldn't play anymore. I had to get some mods to try and lessen this as much as possible... Still didn't help much.

What I love the most about Crysis is how beautiful it looks at medium/far away distance. It really helps with the immersion.
