I was just browsing around at crutchfield a few minutes ago. I entered my vehicle specs to find some speakers that fit - 98 Civic LX sedan. I was shocked when I was notified that NONE of the speakers they had would fit my car. It says my front door is 6-1/2" and the rear deck is 6"x9"... there are a ton of speakers on that site with those dimensions but on the list of things that fit my car it says "Sorry, none of the car speakers we offer fit your vehicle."

This has to be a mistake... surely there are speakers for a freaking Civic!

The problem is probably the mounting depth. The speakers fit the holes in the rear deck/door or whatever but they are too deep to fit.

It's probably the depth. For the front doors, you can go with most 6.5 speakers, just be prepared to cutout some plastic. For the rear though, I'm not sure. I have a Civic hatchback and I replaced my rear with 6x9s and had no problems.

i have a lx 98. 6x9 any speaker will fit in rears. magnet hangs in air so no space limitation.
from mounts aren't too deep, but 6.5" isn't bad. i use polk dx in the front. infinity in the rear. infinity's don't fit in front, magnet too far back, u can cut away the plastic backing if u want though :p i suggest getting components for the front though, stereo imaging in civic with only door speakers in the front is sucky. its like having your back turned to the stereo at all times. i'll upgrade mine later, damned investment.

I have Infinitys.. =x For it to fit in the front, just cut away at the plastic with a Dremel. :)

I don't like chopping my car up :(

I knew there had to be something wrong with the rears because I noticed that the stock speakers just hang there with a ton of room though. I'm not sure what I want at all right now anyway, just looking.
