Bought myself a USB KB, shut down the PC, swapped KB, started up & no video signal.

The computer is posting albeit slower than normal, and it seems to be booting up. All fans are going, HDD is spinning, KB lights on, PSU voltages are OK.

I've tried with the old KB, swapped the video card (3870 to 9500Pro), cleaned the PC, checked connections, cleared the CMOS, tried with 1 stick of RAM. Still no luck.

I'm assuming it's the mobo (ASROCK 775 DUAL VSTA).

Does anyone have any other ideas, or will I be upgrading a little sooner than I thought?

Have you tried a different monitor?

If it still doesn't work, the BIOS may be corrupted. Try clearing it. (Replace the battery while you're at it).

If it still doesn't work, replace the BIOS. http://www.biosman.com/

if it still doesn't work, replace the mobo.

if it still doesn't work, become a Luddite!

That did it--brought the CRT out of retirement.

Enabled legacy USB support, installed KB driver, and switched back to the LCD.

Thanks.

Although I think I'll still update the PC soon. 😀
