I had David over for dinner last night. He brought back two cruchers that I put back on-line. He plans to be out of the house next weekend heading for points unknown. He mentioned a spot around Baton Rouge as a possible option.

Please keep him in your prayers as he is at a very low point. 🙁
Divorce is tough but as everyone knows life does go on - it just takes some time. I just hope Dave takes the opportunity to lean on the close friends and family he has for support. Situations like this are much easier when you're not going through it alone.

Best wishes, Dave!

CkG, I copied and forwarded your PM to Donna to give to David. He will he at home until Friday. As of yesterday he plans on heading to New Orleans this weekend.

Much thanks to the rest of our TeAmmates for the support. David has given a lot of himself to this TeAm and it is great to see it coming back again!

Thanks for all your heartfelt wishes and support all.

Donna gave me that note this morning from CKG so I signed on.

I am trying not to lean too hard on Family in Florida, they are actually helping me too much again in this time and very fortunate to have that support.

My destination to New Orleans is actually from a very staunch supporter here that wrote letters to the Governor etc. There is a Cable Modem there so I will sign on once I get things unpacked and hooked up.

CAD, I'll give you a call when I get settled down there, thank you.

Dave

I've been working some seriously long hours - and missed this.

This totally sucks.

Donna - I know you read the boards. Once the "D" thing happens - it's too late. Too late hasn't happened yet though, and it's really time to consider carefully what choices are being made.

No - I don't know the "whole story." I do know this though... there's NOTHING that can't be worked out.

Consider how rare a man David is. Consider the good times. Consider that a big change for the better is only a phone call away. Consider what the bible says about divorce. Consider whether all the years are worth throwing away. Consider the possbility that a big "win" is being handed to Satan - who WANTS you two to fail, and is partying his butt off right now.

David - You must be willing to accept that maybe you'll never work in the I.T. industry again. For every door that closes - another opens. One must be willing to walk through the door. Consider how rare a woman Donna is. Consider the good times. Consider that a big change for the better is only a phone call away. Consider what the bible says about divorce. Consider whether all the years are worth throwing away. Consider the possbility that a big "win" is being handed to Satan - who WANTS you two to fail, and is partying his butt off right now.

After all you two have been through - this is not the time to pull apart. You both made a commitment. Ask yourself if your own pride and human failings are worth more than something that many people search their entire lives for... and never find.

How do I know all of this? TWO divorces, that's how. You can NEVER go back once it's done. Yes - people try, but it's never the same, it's only different. Maybe different is OK - maybe not - but this is a step you'll both regret - probably for the rest of your lives.

Bury the hostility, forget the past, lose your pride - and work it out. You'll not have another chance. I wish you both the best - but I wish you the best together -- as it should be.

Thanks Dan,

I showed this to Donna as I load the last of my things into a trailer. What you wrote is exactly what I said and understand. I have no hostility and never have, my feelings for her have not wavered. She says she has no feelings for me. She says you don't know everything. Well, neither do I as I will never understand why she considers me to be worthless and thrown out with the trash.

Like I told JW, I might as well have been an abusive, smoking, drinking slug.

Georgia did it again Dan. An uncontested Divorce without kids is as instant as signing the papers at the Lawyers Office. As soon as she signed last Friday, Georgia Law gives me 30 days to vacate the house.

I'm hitting the road at 6 am and will be in New Orleans around 8 pm Central time, God willing as I am taxing and pushing that Caravan of mine I'm sure way beyond it's capacity.

I'll talk to you all from my new life when I get settled, though my heart will forever have a tear in it that will never heal.

David

30 days! ,is that all? damn that's well out of order!:|
As far as leaving Georgia goes it sounds like good riddance to bad rubbish!

Btw ,I don't get it ,how come the USA (just Georgia???) has such poor rights like this?

Dave
Be careful with your caravan mate, don't overload it , you don't want any further hassle right?😉

Well the Caravan made it. Greetings from New Orleans.

I nearly wiped out twice after Tractor Trailers passed me and sent me fishtailing. I had to gas up every 90 miles so it got 4 miles to the gallon instead of normal 20 mpg.

It was floored going uphill and got to 40 mph tops but when downhill would be just shy of 70.

I've plugged into the cable Modem setup for the Wireless link to my laptop but the desktop 3200+ will stay boxed for a while at least until I find work here.

That's an overloaded caravan, likely in need of tune up / filters / oil change.
I used to have one, the day I left it on the side of the interstate & called the wrecking yard to go pick it up was one of the best days in the past 5 years!

Anyway, glad you made it Dave! Stay in touch!

Did a little driving with it today after unloaded and it was back to over 20 mph. Tuesday I'll get the transmission fluid changed and I'll change the oil.

Just came back from around the corner from here at Mandeville seafood fest

Fireworks tonight at the docks on Lake Ponchartrain.

A good plan if you want to keep it running! 😀

Try to enjoy the day, don't let the circumstances get you down. 😉

EDIT: I just re-read your post and as a former Caravan owner had to chuckle:

it was back to over 20 mph!!! 😀

LMAO, didn't notice the typo until you pointed it out. 😎

Good luck, Dave. Enjoy (what's left of) the 4th. 🙂

Hey David! Great to see you online!! And thank God you made it safely. I know you got little sleep the night before leaving. Good luck with everything!

Thanks.

Changed the Oil on the Van today, the oil was very burnt, it's running well now again.

I'm having a little bit of a time adjusting to this Central time. It's only a 1 hour difference but having trouble adjusting to it. Was 101 degrees with 110 heat index, should make me loose more weight.

Now you can see what I put up with coming home everyother weekend. MY sleeping habits are so screwed up! I often stay up later so that I am going to bed on Central time.

Glad you are doing well! 🙂

It's really odd. The clock does not match the Sun path and TV is totally screwed up. They have to do Special Report break ins all the time for events that happen on Eastern Standard time.

Sleep wise I'm still doing fine in getting plenty of hours of sleep in and may be getting more sleep time in because I'm going to sleep by 10 pm here which is my old 11 pm but getting up around 7 am which was 8 am so I am sleeping more :Q

I'll be doing better once I get some kind of income going. At least I had some income going with the things I had over there and gave them all away.

Heh. Try going the other way. I grew up in Central time, moved to Florida and had the worst time adjusting. I'd fall asleep waiting for the news to come on. And getting up in the mornings to go to work. Ugh.

And though I've lived in EST for 20 years now, I have no problems going back to Central time at all. 😛

😉😉

Again, best of luck with the income search, Dave. 🙂

I remember one particular series of jaunts I took -
Seattle to Houston, and Houston to Santiago, Chile
3 days in Chile, then back to Seattle -
1 day in Seattle, and then to Herndon, VA - for 3 days, and
then back to Seattle.

That was about 4 years ago, and I STILL haven't recovered. :Q
