You have a whole year after the birth to name her(depending on locality). Why not spend some time with her and see what name fits? Our son wasnt named for about two weeks after birth. The nurses threw a holy fit, but the law was on our side.

This. We couldn't come up with a name for one of our kids - nothing felt right - so we waited until after he was born and at some point he looked up at us and it was like he was saying "My name is ... " and we just knew it was his correct name.

His birth certificate says "baby boy (last name)". It's a bitch when you need his original unaltered birth certificate for something.

La-a (Ladasha)?? Imagine having to explain that one every time you give your name! Kid'll never forgive you.

Congrats OP, best wishes to what's-her-name 😎

I believe that to be true, but if you don't do it at the hospital I believe it's more of a pain the butt to do. Besides, you had 9 months to figure out a name. That being said, we waited until the last dying minute before we left the hospital before naming my boy b/c we couldn't decide between 2 of them.

However whatever name you pick, even if you think it doesn't "fit" them, that's who they grow to be and it ends up "fitting" them and their personality.

Whatever you pick, please use the most common spelling. Your kid will be completely fucked over if you give them some retarded spelling so nobody can find them in any database.

Also try to avoid hyphenated names like Billy-Joe or Peggy-Sue-Allan. If you need to repeat the name or explain how it's spelled, you are doing it wrong. If you say your name is Steven, it should be spelled Steven. If you need to clarify that it's spelled s t e e v e n then you suck as a parent and should be promptly terminated.

since you like skipping letters in already existing names here are a bunch of girl names with letters missing

Give her a drug name. I'll name my female dog Phenylcyclohexylpiperidine. Maybe shorten that down to Piperidine. The kids at school will call her "pip" as they beat the hell out of her and take her lunch money.

Just named our daughter Lilah. My wife wanted Addison but I vetoed it. We were also considering Lily.

Other names we had agreed on in the past but got used up before we got the chance were Zoey and Madison.

New rule: you can't name your kids after diseases.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Addison's_disease
Addison’s disease (also chronic adrenal insufficiency, hypocortisolism, and hypocorticism) is a rare, chronic endocrine disorder where the adrenal glands do not produce sufficient steroid hormones

Maybe I should name my kid Crohn after Crohn's disease, an inflammatory disease of the intestines.

no weird names, no celeb names.
so far she like Madeline, Madelynn, Ava, Emme, Adyson, Madison and Isabelle
I'm ok with Ava, Emme and Adyson but I want more options since she really likes Madeline the best (barf)

how would you pronounce Ava? like Eva? if so, name the kid Eva

madelynn? adyson? emme? my friends growing up that had weird spelling for names hated it

I vote Isabelle

I think it's pronounced like a long A. Like gay without the g. It's really not a bad name; short and simple.

Having incorrect spelling causes all kinds of problems. Most people don't really care if their name is spelled wrong, but the bank sure as hell does care. This $20,000 check says Addison and you're saying your name is Adyson? No deal. Wait two weeks while we verify this.

"My name is Kerry but spelled with an I"
"So it's spelled like Kerri?"
"No the first vowel is an I"
"So it's Kirry?"
"No both vowels are I"
"So it's Kirri?"
"Oh and only 1 R"
"Kiri?"
"Exactly."
