"Bacon Bits
Pork bellies cured with [water, salt, sugar, natural smoke flavor (plant source), sodium phosphate, sodium erythorbate, sodium nitrite]."

Mmmmmm! DELICIOUS!!

I guess it's not that crazy, but I never expected bacon bits to be made out of THAT.

Edit: Well, looks like I don't know anything about bacon. For those that did not know, most bacon in the US is made from pork belly.

Before their new mcnuggets, mcdonalds used to have an ingredient called 'anti-foaming agent' in their nuggets... so without it, your mcnuggets would start foaming or something

Sounds like it's just cured pork bellies - AKA bacon.

That IS news!

this was my first thought.

then i decided that the op was a fool

Not a fool, just didn't realize bacon came from that part of the pig.

So I'm looking at the Wikipedia page for bacon and it does say most bacon in the US comes from the pig's belly. Does that mean the actual stomach?

Teach me, oh knowledgable bacon overlords!

Yes.

You eat pigs stomachs when you eat bacon. Sometimes, you even taste the last thing the PIG ate before it died. Those are Kodak moments.

Of course not... think of a beer belly. All that fat and meat is what you are eating, not the stomach....

MrLee got schooled when he revealed he had no idea that pickles came from cucumbers, prompting the mods to change his handle to MrPickles. Maybe shocksyde is soon to be known as porkbelly?
