Freeport is a huge port, you will need transportation from the dock by the ship to wherever you want to go on the island. (Otherwise you'll just be wandering around a big industrial seaport.)

Lots of places to see in the Bahamas though.

Not sure if this a issue anymore with the jet propulsion steering but I remember a cruise about 10 years ago where we had a cabin at the rear of the ship...when we left port in the morning, the vibrations from the engines/screws at the back when the ship was leaving the dock was not very good if you were hung over...

I've been on a cruise 2 times. Royal Carribean and Princess.

All the staff is Philliapeno and Asian. When I first went on my first cruise with my family, I was surprised I was like wtf is this and then someone explained to me that they ONLY hire people that need work in the third world countries, so made a lot of sense. 10/10 they are all friendly.

They throw them over if their not.

Cruise tips:

Always start watching Tom Cruise in Risky Business or Top Gun. After that, he started getting a little too full of himself. The Mission Impossible movies weren't bad, but by that time he's wrestling with his sexuality and believes alien spirits are causing mental illness.

And then his 5'6" manlet self got cast as Jack Reacher....wtf? I suggest just stay wray from Cruise.

Cruise went well... Kids had a lot of fun. We've already booked a getaway for just the wife and I. Figured sharing a few photos couldn't hurt.
