Yea, but I wonder how much they wll charge. Seems like crucial is charging to much these days compared to others, before they used to be cheaper or the same price. I dont know if anyone agrees with me but thats my personal opinion.
 
Cool, too bad it wasn't out a week ago when I built my new rig. Looks like 6ns micron chips. Hopefully they won't be slow with 512 MB sticks.
 
A 256 stick of OCZ PC3000 183Mhz with Heat spacers here in Canada is going for $169 Cdn. so I don't think it will be that much.

Precisely my thought about it. Given that Crucial is in no way going to be charging less for the PC2700 than their PC2100 memory, they could be in some trouble 'cause there's some better PC2700 memory available for less than what Crucial is charging for PC2100.

If it was $169 Canadian, then it would be around $106 US right now since it's around 61% on the dollar to buy now.

Unfortunately, 2*256, Kingmax only makes up to 256 MB PC2700. With only 3 slots its going to be a problem, but I wanted to get my rig up and running. This does seem to be pretty fair stuff though, cas2 to 188mhz stable 24/7 at 2.8v and starting to flake at 202mhz cas 2.5.

I'm really liking this IWILL board so far, and this AIW 7500 is one sweet puppy.
 
I'd look at the Corsair 512Mb PC2700 RAM. It's $205/stick at Mwave right now. I got a stick yesterday and it's running @ 340Mhz even as we speak. I ran Memtest 86 on it for 10hrs last night and it was 100% stable, no errors at all.

PliotronX, you should have stayed with your original recommendation. Although they are OOS with this item, Newegg.com's excellent reputation proceeds them.

LuNoTiCK's alternative is googlefear.com. They have a score of 4.1 at resellerratings.com. Their customer service, to say the least, is far from the best, so just hope nothing goes wrong. However, they are a better choice than...

PliotronX's second recommendation, ocsystem.com a.k.a. componentauthority.com, they have a combined score of 1.3 at resellerratings.com. Abeit they appear new, they're off to a very, very, very bad start.

JMO.
 
I thought i read that pc2700 only gives a perfomance boost if its CL2. so you arent geting much if any performance with cl2.5@166MHz

please correct me if im wrong im no expert in this

What kind of chips does it have? Speed?
I was hoping they would come out with 512 soon and looks liek they have...sweet if not expensive.
What do you think so far?
 
What I want to know is if my KT266a Mboard is giong to handle 166+MHz speeds so I don't have to have one with the KT333.
 
Wolfram - I don't know what kind of chips it has because they are covered by a heatspreader that has nifty Corsair logos on it. Didn't want to try and remove it in case I mucked something up. Here's a picture.

Speed I'm running so far is 340Mhz completely stable.

I like this so much I went and got another stick so now I've got 1gig of PC2700 RAM. Ran 11 hrs of Memtest 86 and 7 hours of Prime95 on these 2 sticks and everything is looking great, so far.
