well, i just went to check it out & it's at $111 & back-ordered, i don't think i reall need another 128mb, if i have 256mb pc133 already, but if either 128mb micron or mushkin rev2 ever drop to $60, i'll just buy another piece just to see the amount of memory increase in windows & be very happy that i notice no major performance gains.

darker is right. It's there. Do a search for "Crucial 128MB" It's the one listed at 92.50. And it's the CAS2 PC133 because I ordered the exact same item.
I'm pissed ... cuz I bought it for way more just a few weeks ago from buy.com. Woe is me.

There is a program called 'value guarantee" from amex just for this situation. They refund the difference if the price drops after you buy something. I wonder visa or mastercard offers similar deals.

How can you tell from the listing or the part number that it is the CAS2 version? Or just based on the fact that what you received was CAS2?

Myself and many others who ordered this ram a week or so ago at the higher price can promise you its the cas 2 memory that is sold on the crucial web site. Its exactly the same memeory but buying it with buy.com you dont have to pay the sales tax that crucial charges me and you get to use a $30 off of $150 coupon to sweeten the deal. Sorry if I did not link it but the early thread has it all linked in there.

Good grief, the 128MB stick I ordered at $111(-$20)hasn't even been delivered yet. Guess I'll go the RMA route also and order another 128MB stick @ $93(-10 or -20 if I add $7 of stuff). Wonder if I'll need to RMA the $93 dollar stick for a $35 one next week.

I was confirming that it's the CAS2, not questioning. I live in CA ... so I pay tax from both buy.com and crucial

stuman- I posted a similar deal from buy.com a couple weeks ago regarding this specific ram. I called up Crucial and asked them what ram the part number from buy.com corresponds to and they said the Crucial's CT16M64S4D7E module.

When I got in on this deal, I used a Visa and I looked through the user agreement and found no "price guarantee" for purchases. I'm really kicking myself because I do have an AmEx but used the other CC for some stupid reason.

Yep, this is the same as on Crucial's site. I e-mailed Crucial before mine arrived and they confirmed the latency. Mine came a few days ago and the sticker says it's csl 2. Also, don't pay attention to buy.com's claim of no warranty in the FAQ page about this ram. Crucial said this stuff has the lifetime warranty.

Don't mean to flame anybody but I emailed Crucial regarding the RAM at buy.com and this is the response I got

I just read my warrenty info that came with my buy.com crucial memory. It does not state that you have to purchase the memory directly from crucial to have a lifetime warrenty from crucial. This is from there own info sheet that comes packaged with the memory. As far as if its the cas2 memory my first 2 sticks are and my second 2 will be here tomorrow and I will check those. The ones I get tomorrow I am just sending back RMA anyway to save myself around 60 bucks from my earlier order.

First of all, if you have AMEX, always use it unless the establishment does not take AMEX. Aside from price protection they also offer insurance (free replacement) and against damage and theft for the first 90 days and so on. They have the best fraud policy and are completely customer oriented, which is one of the reasons some stores don't like AMEX. If weird charges show up on your account just call and that's it, AMEX takes it off your statement at the drop of a hat and investigates on their own dollar, not yours (unlike other CC's). Any their customer is by far the best.

Anyway. CA residents should just buy memory from Mushkin.com. The stuff is better, there's no sales tax and they have specials all the time. Just Yesterday they were selling 256 MB PC133 CAS 2 modules for $199 shipped. I previously bought some Rev. 1.5 from them so I didn't cash in on this deal. But they deal all the time.

Not hardly. I have bought quite a bit of memory from Mushkin over the years, and as much or more from Micron/Crucial. Both are of very high quality, but IMHO the Crucial PCB and traces are a bit better quality.
