I have both SSDs in my laptop (356 830 and 256MB M4). There is no difference in real-life speed between the 2. The Samsung toolbox is handy to get your windows settings optimized for an SSD. I installed it once for that reason, and to also check the general health of the Samsung, before I uninstalled it. It's a shame that the M4 does not have it's own software. So I have to give a slight nod to samsung for that reason if they are the same price.

Will the Samsung have any issues running on a sata II platform?

I got the M4 over the 830 cuz 512GB is 700 dollars. M4 512GB 399.99 . Soo I got the M4.

Its not letting me down,, my ssd that is. On top of that my cluster size is 512k instead of 4096kb cuz it was brought in with image.....

My bootup is 20 seconds, it used to be 4 minutes. Photoshop is 2 1/2 seconds as soon as windows comes up. Who knows if 512k is good or bad for its health hmm ??
