Crucial is Micron. And Kingston uses Infineon memory chips.
Not always..... I have 2 512MB sticks of PC2700 Kingston Value RAM that has Winbond BH-6 chips. (The same as Corsair XMS 3200) Both sticks perform as well as my Corsair XMS 3200.
Well, Kingston signed a multi-billion dollar contract with Infineon. So from now on I imagine that all Kingston memory modules with use Infineon memory chips.

Got a pair od kingston 512 pc2700 modules in December built with Samsung chips. I can run those at 400 no problem. Luck of the draw with Kingston. If yoy get modules with the right chips your in business if not then you just have ordinary ram.
