Crucial Memory

Damn prices are going up and up. Mushkin rams are getting pretty pricey now. I was browsing through looking for a couple of sticks of 256 DDR cas 2 but I didn't find any on Crucial.com. I know a lot of people say that they have cas 2 crucial memory. Is this because they set it to cas 2 in the bios or are the chips themselves cas 2? I only see cas 2.5 at crucial where there are cas 2 at mushkin.

CAS 2.5 refers to DDR memory
CAS 2.5 is PC2100
to get CAS2 DDR RAM you'd have to get PC2400

are you looking for PC133 or DDR?

CAS2 PC133 from Crucial is rated cas2 by the chips, it will runs CAS2 guaranteed.

I am not sure if Crucial makes CAS2 PC2400 DDR SDRAM but the 2100 is the best spot for the best value... if you are getting PC133 I'd recommend Crucial. I'd even recommend Crucial 2100 over Mushkin 2400 just because I know the Mushkin will cost an arm and a leg and probably won't be worth it.. my CAS2 Crucial PC133 runs @ 150 CAS2 - ZERO problems.

I bought Crucial PC2100 256MB DDR sticks, and run them at CAS 2 on
my A7M266, with no probs. Even saw a nice jump in SiSoft Sandra.

To run the crucial ddr memory on cas 2, do you adjust the memory frequency or the cas latency in the bios?
