I'm looking to get a 1TB SSD. Is there any noticable difference between the Crucial M500, and the Samsung 840 EVO?

I found some reviews for the M500 960GB in the sticky, and for other Samsung drives, but none for the Samsung 840 Evo series.

http://www.amazon.com/Crucial-2-5-In... CT960M500SSD1 - $596, 4.8 rating

Samsung Electronics 840 EVO-Series 1TB 2.5-Inch SATA III Single Unit Version Internal Solid State Drive MZ-7TE1T0BW - $636, 4.6 rating

I'm also open to other brands, couldn't find any on Amazon though.

I don't know anything about the Samsuung drive, but I have a 960GB M500 and am thoroughly satisfied with it, for what that's worth.

The Samsung benchmarks faster... I prefer the M500 enterprise feature of controlled power down if the power blinks or goes out since I don't have a UPS, especially on the bigger drive sizes since my data is worth more than the tiny percentage differences in benchmarks.

Thanks guys :) Looks like I'll get the M500 then.

Oh cool, that's a great feature. I actually do have a battery backup but it doesn't work very well - I think my PC is too many watts for it.
