So should we all start a new thread for this hot deal?
NFS4, go to the original thread, it shows you how to go thru the webpromo URL to get the extra 5%.

I seem to be having a problem with this. Whenever i enter my computer information (Gateway Select with an Atlon Classic 750) into the crucial webpage, it comes with a list of memory that is compatible, and this memory is not on the list. I get 128mb cs2 and cs3, and 256mb cs3, but no 256mb cs2. Does anyone know if this memory is really compatible with my system? Also, right now I have no idea if my memory is running at PC100 or PC133, can anyone tell me the easiest way to check? If I don't need the PC133 then there's no point in spending the money on it.

Thanks for any help
-Joe

Got it for the $112. If you log into their member program it bumps the price up to $118. Had to clear all cookies and the temp files before I could get it back down to $112.

LucJoe, Athlon's run on a 100FSB. But grab the 133 memory to give yourself the most use out of it. Newer AMD chips will run on a 133FSB so you'd be able to upgrade and not have to change the memory. Search for this part number CT32M64S4D7E , it should work just fine in your system.

A quick question, just ordered a DELL poweredge 2400 server. I believe it's using ServerWorks LE chipset.
On crucial site, if I go through its memory configurator, it says that I need a PC133 CAS=3 registered ECC memory module, just wonder, can I use PC133 CAS=2 registered ECC?
Their price difference is very little.
thanks.

IS CRUCIAL BETTER FOR OVERCLOCKING OR THE LOWER VERSIONS OF MUSHKIN? BY THAT I MEAN IF I WERE TO SAME SIMILARLY PRICED MUSHKIN, WHICH WOULD BE BETTER? ANOTHER THING, 4 128'S BETTER OR 2 256 BETTER FOR OVERCLOCKING?

I've heard good things about crucial reaching high fsbs at 222, so I'd go with them... As for the 128*4 vs 256*2... well I'd go with two 256 modules, because its faster than having to access several chips at once, and some motherboards are unstable with all the memory banks full, especially the thunderbird/duron boards.
( or so I've heard, I guess I'll find out when my kt7a arrives ;P )

I tried to order this, and at the end of the transaction it said they could not ship UPS 2-nd day to me and that I'd have to choose an alternative which would be fedex second day, and for that they were gonna carge me $8.50. So I dumped my order:disgust:

If you don't overclock or just overclock a little bit within 10,
Crucial is better deal than Mushkin.

If you want sure so-called PC150, get Kingmax.

Mushkin is way overpriced.

one more RAM question : i noticed "ECC" costs more than "unbuffered" RAM, plus getting "Registed" RAM costs a little more too.. what are the advantages of choosing these options, is it worth the extra money? thanks again

ECC means error checking and correcting
parity means error checking without correcting
CL=2 means CAS latency is 2 system clock
CL=3 means CAS latency is 3 system clock
CAS latency is the time period for the memory to responses
usually, for home or office use, non-parity is good enough

for people who had received their 256MB Crucial cas 2, how many memory chips where there, 16(both side has memory chips) or 8(only one side). BTW, which one is better single sided or double sided?
