Heh. Not bad. Id personally rather have non-lights and save money(sorry but lights on memory just make me laugh) but, they look pretty sold out of the other stuff so good deal for someone.

I wonder if this has the Micron chips &/or performs as well as the last deal on Crucial memory from Buy.com?

Right now I have a Dell with DDR2 400 memory in it right now. Will these be compatible with that?

I'll be getting a new computer soon that these would ultimately go into for a little overclocking.

You should be able to clock these to lower clock speed (check your bios to see if you can manually set the timing on your memory). So it should be ok.

If a motherboard only supports DDR2-800, is there any need getting anything faster, or is that something a future bios fix could remedy?

Well if that was true, its the worst mobo ever invented. :)

Anyways, DDR2-800 is fairly decent. If you are not overclocking, you do not even need that fast. DDR-800 still allows for at least a 3ghz overclock so.... Shouldnt be that big of an issue unless youre shooting for 3.6ghz+.

By the way, there is a buy.com $10 off $150 and $15 off $200 coupon code floating around. So if you cannot use google checkout anymore, use the $10 off $150 code.

They overclock very well. Currently none of the DDR2 chips being made are 500MHz natively rated, they are all overclocks which is why d9 chips are so highly rated because they allow for greatest overclock.
