Lately, the quality of some Crucial Bs may not be up to standard. Some sticks will not POST with 1.8Vdimm. That said, good Crucial Bs should overclock very well without the need to apply excessive voltage.

oh yeah I'm sure it's still fine. I just don't need any lighting for my case so would have preferred the standard version even at the same price. I might end up with these to though unless I see a better deal by the end of the day. Trying to upgrade my pc this week been waiting a while for the best deals.

Me too.

The Tracers I bought back in March run extremely hot! I replaced them with regular Ballistix that just get warm at the same voltage.

SerpentRoyal carries some positive weight in this forum: a number of decent posts. Maybe he/she's blown this topic, but... what history does Earfroth bring to the table?

Hey! Not damning anyone... nor am I a Crucial fan-boy (okay, fan-geezer)... just asking what credentials each one brings to the table: I haven't been overwhelmed by anyone's logic so far, and Earfroth's as vapid as Serp' in this respect. Blah blah blah blah... easily said gibberish. Think I'll go back to reading a good book.

PS: "if you only knew...he-he!" Crumpets... if only YOU knew! That's an easy thing to e-write, but... if it's worth mentioning, then... DUH... you would probably have told us all you knew! :) Sorry, but some of us date back to the origins of time, and even worked on the dARPANET, the ARPA Network Terminal Servers, and the formation of the Universe as we know it. Wheee... that makes us gods and... and... oh, it makes us something-or-other, but mostly senile. [Oh yeah, it means we have a basic grasp of spelling and syntax that following generations have shed.]

PPS: Damn depressing that this seems OOS at this time... me hungers for it!

Crucial can and will put non-D9 in these modules. Why trust me when you can call Crucial to confirm. That's the problem when you have to answer to shareholders but can't raise prices. The Kingston N5 DDR2 800 are still holding up in the quality department but their modules are going for $60 for 1GB x 2 and no rebate.

"Baselick"! Heck, 'wish I had the flexibility to Baselick! 'Barely can Noselick! :p Heck, with this miserable cold I'm fighting, wouldn't even risk that!

[I'm still puzzling over "SerpentRoyal", and in California, at that! I'm familiar with "Le Gros Serpent" [Chingnachgook]... are you a distant cousin? 'Juzz finished "The Prairie", and sad to see the end of La Longe Carabine.]

I like the LEDs on the ram. I got a pair last year for the awesome price of $120 :p, well it was pretty good at the time LoL. I didn't really want the lights, but I find myself using them quite a bit. You can get a pretty good idea of what the computer's up to by watching ram access. It'll let you know if the computers locked up, or just being sluggish. I'd pay $10 more to have lights on my ram. It isn't a must have feature, but it's kind of nice on occasion.
