Crucial Ballistix 512mB pc3200 $99

NewEgg has 512mb sticks of Crucial Ballistix DDR PC3200 for 99 bucks. (plus $5 shipping. )

Anandtech reviewed this ram here:
http://www.anandtech.com/memory/showdoc.aspx?i=2145&p=3
and liked it enough to give it a gold editor's choice, but with the following caveat on voltages:
As seen with the other very high speed DDR400 in this roundup, Crucial rates the Ballistix at a very high 2.8V. 2.8V is higher than the 2.5V to 2.6V that is standard for memory on most motherboards, but it should be available on most of the high-end boards that would likely be used with this memory. You should check your specifications to make sure that you can support the voltage needs of the new PC3200 modules. We should also mention that we had no problem whatsoever at DDR400 with 2-2-2 memory timings and a stock 2.5V memory voltage, so this may or may not be an important issue with your Ballistix PC3200.

Edit: ya know, I wish that New Egg had given AT members a promo code deal on this like they did on that Corsair memory. I suggested it in email to anandtechmembers@newegg.com for the Muskin lvl 2 2x512 kit that they have. So I'm not sure whether I should jump on this yet.

crucial.com also lowered their prices from 119 down to 109. I bought a pair from crucial.com less than a month ago and called in today asking if I could get the difference back, they refunded me the difference in price, booya.

RAM prices are dropping significantly. I haven't even had my gig of ballistix from newegg for 5 months and I paid well over $270 on them (and that was a steal of a deal back then!)

FOr overclocking a 3200 winchester, would it be better to buy these ones or the pc4000 obnes? They're at pretty similar prices.

y would any 1 spend more on a simple component like memory than on a CPU ? or more than the video card ? or any of the other components for that matter ? look at how much each component contributes to your system's performance and you'll understadn it's not worth spending $300 for memory.
