Newegg has Crucial Ballistix 2GB DDR2 1066 (PC2 8500) kit at $165 - 85 rebate ($5 shipping). Was $195 a few days ago and went OOS (I was sorry to have missed the deal). Came back in stock at $205 before rebate this morning. Now down to $165. Lowest price around for this kit, or any other DDR2 1066 kit. Exp 6/8.

Geez...RAM prices just keep falling like there's no tomorrow, don't they? It's been 2 weeks since I got my new RAM and already there are a whole load of faster sticks at lower prices

When will these price drops end, if ever?

rumor is that the chip makers have already scaled back production to counter the oversupply; in the next 6-12 months they will probably start shifting toward DDR3, depending on MB support. Either way, this is a all-time low for RAM prices (I paid close to $300 for Corsair XMS2 PC64000C4 2gb 6 months ago; now it's 1/3 of that). I already bought 6 gb's of Crucial Ballistix this week--don't even know where to stick'em. Hopefully Crucial pays the rebates.

Good RAM though!

this rebate expires tomorrow; but I am sure by next week new rebates will come out. Just look around on this forum, all the major RAM makers are offering rebates right and left on both value and performance RAM's. I already bought 6 gb's of Ballistix (4 different rebates) this week.

I'm still waiting for my $75 MIR from Crucial for the last set of 8500 I got from Newegg. This is a smokin' deal though. These chips are fast, and great OC'ers. Will do 1200 (1066 stock) at 5-4-4-12, and don't even require that much voltage (will POST with 1.8).

just a reminder--all the Crucial rebates require a copy of the PACKING SLIP instead of the usual receipt (confirmation E-mail NOT acceptable). Better send both the packing slip and the receipt.

It says original sales receipt OR packing slip.

it doesn't have too, you just have to be able to manually change the speed though in the BIOS... most motherboards allow you to do this.

Finally got these. Running stable (according to 30 min OCCT & ~4 hours of WoW) at 900 MHz 4-4-4-12-2T @ 2.2v. Still need to do more tweeking.

I sent in the rebate before I read the comment regarding the packing slip. I hope it still goes through.

got mine yesterday--like all Crucial Ballistix, excellent quality RAM's (now I've got 6 gb's of Ballistix, and 5 more gb's of HP PC5300 on the way; and I only have ONE DDR2 board, with 2 gb of Corsair XMS2 on board already). I am such a rebate junkie.

Does anyone know about the "limit one per household"? I purchased a set of these back in April using a different MIR (expired back in May). Would they accept my MIR from a June MIR form??

The one per household limit applies to that particular rebate/period; you can qualify for another one now.
