Damn. I paid $190 for my 256GB 830 a month ago and counted myself lucky.

I jumped on this a week or two ago last time it popped. Great drive for that price. Looks like we'll be south of $0.50 a GB soon.

Is there a big difference? Most adapters for desktops are for 2.5 inches in length, not sure if thickness would make a big deal.

For a desktop, it doesn't unless you're talking about certain very confining ITX builds. It matters for laptops though. And that's an amazing price at Newegg...too bad its OOS.

Yeh I was thinking that for laptops each one would take a different set of thickness depending on your brand. I'm sure in a month or two we can grab the same deal somewhere.

As someone stated earlier, I only keep the OS and minor applications and drivers on the SSD, all games and stuff go on the 1TB HD. I have 103GB left of my 128gb SSD that includes all windows updates.

I would love to ditch the 1tb and just have one large SSD but that won't happen for a long time. Was thinking about grabbing it but its not a need right now.

Agree...I recently hopped on the SSD train, and for my desktop I think a 90gb would be fine. Nothing gets stored on it but the OS and some basic applications.

For a laptop, it would be nice to take out the platter drive altogether, so I can see a market for the larger SSD's.

What gets lost in most of the benchmarking is that most of the benefit is there even on "low performing" SSD, because the access time is still so low even if the throughput isn't as high.
