havent seen it yet but i saw an advert for it on Sky, advertising the fact it was on Sky Movies Premier, anyway, it had clips of the film mixed in with a Chinese proverb, something like:
"There is no control without desire, no action without reaction, no...."

then there is a 3rd part to it, but i cant remember it and its really gettin to me as its one of my fav sayings so can someone please please help me?

within 5 minutes of watching a movie you hated it so much you stopped watching it and returned it? and you can say that the whole movie sucked from the first 5 minutes? :-/

Don't remember the quote and don't own the movie but I remember what scene it was from for anyone that can just pop the DVD in real quick.

It's where Chow Yun Fat was fighting the girl and her old ugly master. (I forgot thier names). Along w/ the police officer, daughter, and father. Near teh beginning when she jacks the sword again when Chow Yun Fat was there.

This is one of those movies I would never have predicted being a hit. Pointless story, sparse action and just over-choreographied. Yet every Tom, Dick, and Harry suddenly adopts a connescuir's stance, professing a finessed critique over it. "Oh, the beauty!". My ass!

btw, my roommate showed me a porn that is a take off of CTHD. I can't say the name of it on here, but it is the funniest thing I have ever seen in my entire life. And I know more than 1/2 of you know what I'm talking about .

The movie was very good. Nice cinematography and excellent fighting scenes.

About the flying: People in these karate flicks have been flipping backwards on top of four-story-roofs and walls for years now. It's expected to see this...it adds to the enjoyment...especially when they have the fluttering-bird wing sounds to go with it!! You know, the "pft-pft-pft-pap-pap-ap" sound ?

I didn't buy CTHD yet, but I DID buy Iron Monkey for $10. That's an awesome flick as well.

Am I the only one that thinks he knows how to karate fight after watching one of these flicks?

It's an Asian martial arts film based on an Asian pulp story. It's a cultural analogue of a movie like Star Wars. The only reason it gets examined as an art film is that American audiences don't like subtitles.

You can't judge that movie by just 5 minutes.... that's like watching the first half of Full Metal Jacket and left in disgust since you expected a war movie.

As for all the flying... er, that's like complaining about "magic is not realistic" in LOTR

i'm surprised no one mentioned the acting. Chow Yun Fat and Michelle Yeoh's speaking parts were so BAD. They couldn't speak Mandarin to save their lives. I was so sick of CYF in the movie....he was like a damn fortune cookie spewing proverbs left and right.
