I take it this is KT's cleaning lady posting under his login, because the KT I know knows a great flick when he sees one, and Crouching Tiger was a beautiful film. Back to the cleaning, you filthy hired help !!

what the hell man? did you watch it subtitled or with the dubbed english track? The dubbed english track, which I think was a direct Chinese translation, was a piece of shit...this is because Chinese dialogue is generally shit.

It's a gorgeous film, though. But like the Matrix, it spawned a lot of shitty imitators trying to emulate the style but with zero substance.

I liked it in this movie, where it's artistic and expressive. It's bullshit in the handful of other movies where I've seen it, and is used exclusive of any other content.

I saw it when it was released in the theaters and it was very novel for a major film at the time.
 
I'd rather watch the third Matrix film over Crouching Tiger, that's for damn sure.

Those two were some of the worst movies ever made. Still doesn't make the first one great. I still enjoyed it, though. It was entertaining.

The Thirteenth Floor, released in theaters at the same time, was a better version of the Matrix, imo.
 
They "recommended for you", it to me but i only like wire fu when the story is about sorcery and additional special effects. Like kungfu hustle.🙁
 
Cinematography in the sequel wasn't as good as the original but still pretty damn impressive. Netflix definitely did a good job with this and I came in fearing the worst.
 
Started with very low expectations... left pleasantly surprised.

It does not stain the name, even if it does not hold its own or raise it to new heights.
It's a worthy (lesser) sequel.
