I have a very old hub. It doesn't have an uplink port. I am trying to use a DLink 701 router with it (1 local, 1 global port). Do I use a crossover cable from the local port on the router to any port on the hub, then a straight through cable from the global port to the cable modem?
also, what is the standard cable arrangement for a crossover cable? i have been making my straight through cables
WO-O-WG-B-WB-G-WBr-Br
is that correct??
any help would be great
