Ok, My friend (who is on 56k

) wants to setup a VERY simple network with 2 computers. I suggested for him to buy a crossover cable. What does he have to do to make a simple setup like that work?

Edit: I read This link and it didnt really explain what im asking - do i need to set up anything special to make it work, or will it just detect the other computer?

What Sman said....just make sure both computers are on the same workgroup and you might want to consider installing the NetBEUI protocol (do a search for "Installing NetBEUI in Windows XP")

Wow this link is really "bad" it does not state the obvious that you have to configure your OS after you install the hardware.:Q :Q :Q

Now, if you tell me what OS your friend is using I will return a Link with the instructions. 😀
