Okay guys, I have a laptop and a desktop. I am going to network them so that I can print (printer connects via parallel port, if that matters at all) from my laptop and also access my dsl (the printer and dsl are both connected to my desktop.

The question? Does my desktop have to be on for me to be able to print and go online? Or can my printer just be on and my dsl just be hooked up? If my desktop has to be on, it'll be a real hassle. 🙁
