Crossover Cable Networking HELP

guys i connected a crossover cable to a win XP Pro Laptop to a win XP home Laptop....
When i go to dos and ping each other i get 4 replies.......now how do i share my hard disk and transfer files?????

my eventual goal is to setup a network for sharing files using crossover...........PLEASE HELP

the problem is that i cant see a computer connected in my network places.....in both the computers.....but i can ping both.......

That is called Sharing Problem. The page in the Link above has info about setting the Sharing of Win98 Win2000 and WinXP.

Try disabling any firewall on both computers like the Windows Firewall in SP2. Then make sure something is shared like Shared Documents and that File sharing is enabled for the network adapter.
