I realize it was a joke, I was saying how I find it funny that most of the racist shit comes from the posters who more identify with the "left" on this forum. Like I said, keep up the good work. Morons.

iirc, combat deaths in iraq/afghanistan have been white in a greater proportion than in the forces on the ground in general. the brown-skinned people had the sense to stay in the rear and fix broken stuff instead.

interesting. So you are saying more white people have died in iraq/afghanistan then brown people? I'm just going to go ahead and believe you because it makes me feel better about being white :colbert:

I felt sorry for the husband but why on earth would they do it, enter another country illegally, just for some sight seeing? The same for the 3 students why enter iran by mistake. (Come on, given the current political climate, you STAY the hell out of the middle east.) What ARE they thinking about? Is climbing some dirt and rock worth being capture and used a leverage againist your own country?

I know this is for political and new but I can't help to bring up a TV show Leverage. There was a episodea show the star hitter refuse to steal a treasure after finding out it if in North Korea. If even a TV a show writer KNEW it is a bad idea to enter a danagerous dictator country, the normal folks SHOULD know they need to stay the hell out of the hot zone.

totally agree.

as far as the 3 idiots, there was still a lot of shooting going on in Iraq when they decided "hey lets go hiking in Iraq" wtf man and they wonder why the Iranians are calling them spies? Who in their right mind would go on a hike in a warzone then play dumb tourist when they got caught. SPIES lol

(no i don't believe they are spies just making a point)

This still sounds fishy. She circled around and tried to get her husband out of the water as the pirates approached meaning they were a good distance away when they fired. Does anybody realize how difficult it would be to hit moving targets like that, from a boat, bouncing up and down at 100+ yards?

Extremely difficult.

Yep, but if firing repeatedly with a semi auto AR type weapon there is definately the possibility of a lucky hit.

Yeah, but it still smells damn fishy. She recalls seeing the bullets hitting all around her in the water which immediately reeks of not true, you can't get that kind of accuracy even with 5+ shooters with autos. And still had time to circle back to try and pull him in. That's going to take 10 seconds plus, minimum.

That means they were a hell of a lot farther than 100 yards from the shooters. In a moving boat, with a moving target. At 300+ yards. In a bouncing boat. A moving target. This isn't the movies.

I don't buy it. No body, no weapon, no case.

Check life policy.

I go in Mexican waters at least 2x a year with my dad's boat out of Dana Point. 6-10 rich white guys (don't feel so rich after 600 gallons of diesel tho). Never one problem. And it's a high end 46fter. Just electronics are about 100K.

Not that hard once boats get on plane, especially on a lake - it's like being on land.

I know you know your boats and weapons. I still don't buy it. Even well planed you're going to bounce enough to matter at that distance unless the water is pure glass. And remember their boats aren't what you would call capable.

I'll wait to see what happens with this story. I don't buy it.

Would you say its more likely to be shot while jet skying if pirates are shooting at you or not?

Most all decent jet skies can easily outrun small boats pretty easily. Unless the pirates had big powerful boats. The whole story is fishy for anybody that's been on the water in either or around firearms. It smells.

Just wait-

I'll call it now. She capped him. Claimed it was the Mexican Drug Lords. Everyone will believe her until they find the body. (If). She is collecting a phat check from life insurance now.

So her husband was shot in the head while driving almost 100mph on a jet ski bouncing up and down, and she had enough time to turn around and attempt to pull his dead body onto her jet ski, and still escape unharmed?
I call bullocks.

Either that or some people really have bad luck.
BTW, I heard earlier today on "Good Morning America" that the couple were repeatedly warned by US authorities before they went venturing into the Mexican border in defiance.

Where did you hear he was going almost 100mph? I find that very hard to believe, there aren't any jetskis that run that speed that I'm aware of. Typically even the fast ones top out at 65-70. AFAIK the fastest ever recorded on a jetski was 92mph on a modified benneli with a 347hp 6cyl engine.

A Jet ski will go 20-30mph at max.
An "attack" boat can easily outrun the Jet Ski.
Toss in an automatic weapon.
The Jetski has an advantage in manuaverability only.

Now the man slows down enough to try to present himself as a target to allow the wife to escape. He gets capped, the "attack boat" overshoots and is not that interested in the wife.

That becomes the only big question mark - why not do both of them?

They were blissfully unaware of the dangers on the lake which is bisected by an international border. Their naivety is similar to the three kids that were hiking on the Iran/Iraq border.

Are u freakin kiddin? Naivety???? Give us a break already...

How stupid do you have to be to plan a hiking trip to Iraq near the Iranian border? I mean seriously...

Guess PT Barnum was right about one being born every minute...

If the man slows down to allow his woman to escape, why would she turn around and try to pick up his dead body on her own jet ski?

If she had simply said she ran away instead of her saying "I turned around and try to put his dead body on my boat but he was too heavy since he weighed x00 pounds", her story would be more believable.

Really? You are going to armchair general somebody being attacked on open water with automatic weapons? Do you really know what you would do in that situation? I bet you would shit your pants.

Even old Jet Ski's go faster than 20 or 30 mph. If they were on Sea Doo type watercraft, those will go 60+mph no problem.

Lake pirates? ha ha

If warned, I'm smart enough not to go. Staying home after being warned and shitting in my pants is certainly the better option.

Do I have pity for the priest and journalists that were hiking in North Korea that Clinton had to save? Not really.
Do I have pity for the people hiking in Iran? Not really.

Common sense is not so common apparently.

My point is you weren't in that situation. How clearly one thinks in a situation like that with NO training is probably not very good. It's stupid to sit back and critic the tactics displayed by the married couple as they were assaulted by fully automatic weapon fire.
