I personally think Doom 3 is overrated (a game you mentioned you liked on a previous thread), but to each his own
What the? I don't think we'll know that till it's released. My point was just that the review gives us nothing relevant.
Same deal with SLI: no need to buy 2 cards when you can buy a faster/cheaper/cooler single card.

As someone has pointed out ATi hasn't launched/released any of it upcomming products. And you can't blame people for beeing curious about their new technology, therefor snapping up tidbits of informations and starting speculations and rumors.

Where do you think the website in the link got the pictures, PR info, and "performance" charts about Crossfire?
IMO whether they had an "official launch" or not, encouraging websites to post this sort of thing about their products to hopefully prevent people from buying products that are acrtually available constitutes a "paper launch".
Well in my eyes, the Crossfire owns the hell out of SLI. Every benchmark site i see, I only see a red bar > a green bar.
FYI: According to hardware review sites and "Insider" sites, the only reason nvidia made the SLI is because they couldn't make a single GPU that was faster than the X850 XT PE. So instead of trying, they made 2 video cards in 1 computer. Then Crossfire came and slapped nvidia back in the face.

You are implying that nVidia's engineers are so talented that they managed to design and bring to market an entirely new chipset and platform(nForce4 SLI) along with having all of the supporting hardware from the OEMs in response to ATi's X850XT one week before the X850XT launched?
No matter how insanely good you think nV is- they are not building time machines.
