Hi There,
I am planning on getting a new rig when I can get my hands on a conroe. I was also hoping to get a crossfire mobo with it, and was wondering which ones are available. I have heard that there are some intel ones but was wondering which models they are, and if they are good enough for the higher end GPU's (read somewhere they were only 8X PCI-e slots). Or if there were any boards coming out withing the next month or so.

Thanks For Your Help

One that you can get now is the Asus P5W DH. It's pricey at about $240-$280 because it's shiny new, and there's not much competition for it right now.

@Concrete:
Welcome to AnandTech!
The Asus P5W-DH uses the 975X chipset, and it supports Conroe and CrossFire. The Asus website implies that it will support Kentsfield (two separate Conroe die on one chip, quad-core total).

@hardwareking:
ATi's Intel chipset will be RD690, I think.

@Nightmare225:
I don't know, but I would stick with whatever nVidia says.

Intel's 975XBX supports crossfire and conroe, its even overclockable. I think tom's did a 975x motherboard roundup recently.
