Ah, the non-apologetic apology - I'm sorry, but not really.

I think your comment was not only over the top but showed a complete lack of sensitivity towards those who lost friends or family members to the ovens of the holocaust. Maybe you thought it was clever or amusing. You were wrong.

I only came back to check on this thread because I saw barfo posted in another thread and I was wondering why he wasn't on vacation.

It's actually difficult to fathom that a human being could not "get it" ... but you are obviously a rare breed. A+ for hiding behind a computer on the internet.

It is estimated that as many as 15 million civilians were killed by this murderous and racist regime, including millions of Slavs and 'asiatics', 200,000 Gypsies and members of various other groups

The posts were removed and the poster was warned, that was the proper level of response here.

Like it or not, there is a pervasive level of immaturity in OT that is not going away any time soon. Because of this, we are constantly being asked to decide whether any one post is merely in regrettable taste or is fully actionable.

THIS ONE seems to be a case where a typical OT knucklehead attempted a passing joke which proved to be in such poor taste that it was removed from the forums and the poster warned.

BUT . . . it was judged not to be full out hate speech deserving of a vacation.

It was a judgment call, and this is where we came down. Please accept our decision.

If I may jump in here....

Being Jewish and all, it is really important as somebody who loves these forums to also understand that these forum have a variety of people posting from kids who barely can post all the way up to senior citizens.

Thus 99 times out of 100, I have found that "oven" remarks and such, although I despise those type of remarks, is part of posting on these forums and as such the mods are quick to act and keep things civil.
The mods for the most part have some idea of how mature people are and IMO they respond accordingly!!
