Crosley Appliances?

Is that a good brand for a dryer? Found a fairly new one on CL and asking was 100, got them down to 60.

Any one hear of this brand? I've done my google searches but looking more for experiences with this brand.

I got them to go down to 40 bucks. I have to rent a truck for pickup but it should be good.

For $60, you really can't go wrong. Personally, the first thing I'd do with a used dryer is take it apart - it's very simple to do, there are plenty of online guides. And completely clean out all the places that lint can collect. It's probably a half hour job, but can improve efficiency tremendously in some cases.

Not only for efficiency, for safety. Lint buildup in a dryer is dangerous and a common cause of house fires. I recommend cleaning a dryer every 5 years or so for safety.

Could you link me a guide that you know of? I've googled them but many seem fishy and vague.

They are vague because each appliance is put together a bit differently. Get the front or back off ( it will be obvious which will come off easily ) and use a vac with an extension. get all the lint you can see. Wipe off the motor as well.

ooo so its just one giant panel covering the unit on the back (or front). Couple hex bolts or similar im guessing. We currently have a whirlpool but the auto dry miser is not working correctly, thus over drying our clothes. Figured instead of getting it repaired, buy this nice dryer for 40 bucks and leave the whirlpool in the garage.

If you are not comfortable with breaking into it, at least get all the buildup in the outlet of the dryer, clean or replace the hose and check the duct the hose is hooked to.

No i think ill be fine going inside of it. I just messaged the manufacturer and asking if their 10 year warranty applies as a transfer. If so then i may just hold off on opening it up since that may void the warranty

I know they made great radios back in the tube days but didn't even realize they were still in business.
