Holy Crap that was a vicious kick. I'm just glad to see that he's up and standing. THat knee/ankle looked horrible.

Notice he started to walk out the wrong direction. I think he'll be shaking some cobwebs loose for a little while after that kick. He must have super flexible legs, if mine had done what his did when he went down, it would've snapped.

So much for Pride fighters being able to wipe the floor with UFC guys, I guess. Though Fedor probably still would.

The most vicious KO I had ever seen was when Quinton Jackson body slammed Ricardo Arona on his head. But this KO was much more scary.

I think Cro Cop could beat most of UFC Heavyweights. This Gonzaga guy looks to have a great future.

After watching the fight 15+ times, does anyone else think that it was odd that not once, NOT ONCE, did Mirko open his guard and try to push Gonzaga away with his feet? It seemed like a couple times Gonzaga was open to the heels in the hips push and with "the most power legs in MMA" surely it would have created enough space it get back up.

Very, very odd.

This guy is good, dunno if he could beat Fedor but from what I saw in this fight he could hold his own even if he lost. Cro Cop didn't seem to push much at all, he was dominated from the jump. It's ironic he got destroyed with a kick, which is usually what he does the destroying with. For him to be up and walking on his own, even if it was 5 minutes after the kick shows how ****** tough he is. Obviously he was dazed as hell, but I get kicked like that I'm in a bed being spoon fed baby food for a month 🙂

cro cop looks like he kept his guard up. he just miscalculated where that kick would go.

ya... he did get his hand up. at first i thought he just couldn't cover the distance from where his hand was to his head fast enough... but it looks like he misjudged the kick and stopped short from covering his head.

also when i heard about this... i had no idea how vicious of a KO this was gonna be. has to be the worst cro cop's seen.

on the topic of cro cops legs though... did he even throw ANY kicks in that match?

A skillful fighter will just catch a low leg kick and tackle you. This guy seemed to have really good ground skills, so maybe cro cop didn't want to risk it.

yeah, the kick he did throw ended up with them on the ground for 3 mins.

This is my take on the situation.

Cro Cop wants to go back to his home country in November time frame which I believe is the end of his contract with the UFC.

Gonzaga will fight Randy, Randy will win. I say sometime in June for the fight. In all honesty it does not matter who wins for Cro Cop.

Cro Cop will fight the same night probably against congo. When/If Cro Cop wins he will do a rematch against Gonzaga sometime in late August.

That will be near his contract and I believe he will retire and head home and relax.
