Pinnacle Airlines plane crash rocks Capital City

Jefferson City resident John Baysinger was in shock when he heard a plane crash in his back yard Thursday night.
"We just heard (the plane) pull up, and that's all we heard," said Baysinger, who lives in the 2200 block of Expressview Drive. "When I looked outside the window, the whole back of my house was on fire.
"I had my two baby girls in the house, so I grabbed them and got them out."
Baysinger was one of the dozens of residents in the Eastland Drive area affected by the crash, which happened at about 10:15 p.m. Thursday. The Federal Aviation Administration was on the scene by 11 p.m.
No information on any injuries in or around the area in eastern Jefferson City where the plane crashed was available from police.
According to Jefferson City Police Capt. Michael Smith, a CRJ2 twin engine jet belonging to Pinnacle Airlines crashed in the 1600 block of Hutton Lane. The jet, which typically carries 20-40 people, had only the pilot and co-pilot on board.
The airline issued a statement that the aircraft was a Canadair Regional Jet. The airline is posting its statements at www.nwairlink.com.
No information about the destination of the jet or what caused it to crash was immediately released.
Residents in the area near Hutton Lane and Expressview Drive, which is located east of Eastland Drive and north of U.S. 50, were notified by an emergency broadcast to evacuate their homes around 10:30 p.m. The evacuation was lifted around 11:30 p.m.
Capt. Smith said he could not tell if or how much structural damage was done to any of the homes at the scene of the accident.
Smith also said residents should avoid the off-ramps at Eastland Drive and Expressview because there are a number of emergency vehicles in the area.
Bill Divine, who was one block away from the accident, thought it was a wreck on the highway.
"I was making hotel reservations on the Internet, and I heard a loud explosion that you could feel the building shake," Divine said. "Probably 30 seconds later there was a secondary explosion.
"I didn't think much of it until there was an announcement to evacuate."

Just came back last week from a NWA flight in one of them DC-9's too. Not the most comfortable flight, very easily shakes subjected to moderate wind.

I really hope you were just not thinking when you said that, or you meant something else and it came out wrong.
