They're stylishly small ;) . Except those only really work with flash sites

I hate it when someone takes a relatively simple web application and tries to blow it up so it fills the screen

if it doesn't fill the screen but achieves its purpose, let it go. imao(in my arrogant opinion hehe)

BTW, you can use CSS to determine what res individual visitors are using and then display pages tailored to that screen size. Extra work, but your page looks good on everything then.

Too many colors (pictures).
Rolling tickers, bleh.
Left menu fonts are hard to read.
Maybe want to think about full page instead of half page.

1. Chose better and clearer pictures, too fuzzy. The back ground looks like a newspaper ad, it would have been better if it was some form of electronic board interpretation.

2. If you must scroll, pause a little bit longer. Preferbly screen pop, and pauses in between.

3. Fonts have already been adressed.

4. Too wide gaps between title links.

1. Menu Font
2. Scrolling area not necessary
3. "Click Here for more information on how to increase your profits" sounds a little Spammy and takes away credibility for a second
4. Not instantly clear what you guys do

Being addressed.

It's what the client wants. Can't talk them out of it.

Agreed, it's their line, not ours.

yea guys, don't worry about the content, what we are discussing here is how objects and functions are presented on screen, from a functionality and aesthetics point of view. If we focus on that, he will get a much more production and pleasing array of responses from us. Not only that, most of this stuff he will only have to ask us once now that we are helping him think about these points.

if you have unresolvable issues with resolution, consider a browser checking tag that will determine the resolution. Then create a simple if then statement that pushes the user to a different set of html that are optimized for that resolution. you can even set it to look at browser type too.

I'm just getting back into web work. I have been a graphic artist at a NYC publishing firm for a couple of years now. I quit my job and am getting into web work. It's a different animal. I was doing web work a while back, but I still have to get back into it.

It isn't up to the web designer to tell the company to get a different tagline...content comes from the company.

In Firefox the tables are messed up, the image is split slightly where the scrolling text comes from.

Yeah, someone mentioned that before. I'll work on that tommorow. How many people use Firefox anyway? :p
Thanks for taking a peek.

It looks weird at high resolutions (i.e. I'm looking at it at 1280x1024 and it's just this little box of color and text in the middle of a big blank white page).
Regular old buttons are so 1990s. You could make a nice custom-palette transparent GIF or something.
You mean the menu on the side?
Like this:

:)

EDIT: Oh, duh, you were referring to the other part of my post... in that case, I was talking about the "Submit" button under the username/pass text boxes.

Same problem with resolution here, as some previously said at 1280*1024 it looks like monster pop-up.

Image on my monitor-Warning the Image is 1280*1024

Aside from the fact that it is WAY too small on higher resolutions,

Font is fuzzy

It does kind of look like something I would see in a pop-up ad, if I ever saw one, but I don't because I use Opera.

depends, in this field if the client doesnt trust the contractor to do their job then something is wrong, most webdesigners know what works and what doesnt work, whats anoying and what isnt, business people usualy dont. In the end its better to get a product that works instead of product that the contractor had a big say in but doesnt work.

For example, all the most creative and best work in advertising is done when the contractor gets to do what he wants to do without any interferance from the client

Looks pretty good. :)

Looks like an excellent site with a great template...but there's a couple things that I see when I look for problems. :D

1) I haven't read all the thread, so this may have been addressed, but there's so many colors...since I feel I know your style enough, I'm leaning toward you being asked to include more color or something along those lines. It's just too hard to try to work with and make it look like a good, planned-out layout. Maybe you can get it down to 3 or something? You've got green, black, white, red, blue and orange. That's pretty color-intensive.

2) For layout purposes, I think the login area should be given a bigger emphasis for visiting members/customers...therefor, I think you should move it ABOVE the menu bar as opposed to below it.
More on this below...

3) The 3 upper banners need to be rearranged somehow to better fit the existing color scheme, IMHO. Try to group the greens, for instance, or do SOMETHING so it seems less friggin rainbow painted. :p :D

Here's a pic I put together in Paint as I was typing this up (sorry, Photoshop isn't accessible on this PC and I only have a few minutes, so bear with the slightly-off measurements please ) to try to give you an idea of what I'm saying. The top banners are rearranged, but just to show how they might look different...not necessarily to as they SHOULD be; you will probably find a better-blending order if you play with it.

Eh, you might've seen all this, and I'm sure I've missed things - other than that aforementioned annoying white bar in the middle of the center graphic :D - but hell, its 4:30am...gimme a break. :p
