Listed that in my first post but it's about $190 with $5 shipping. Now, it does cost more than some of the other 1GB sticks of RAM out there at $190 each 1GB stick but you were thinking of paying abour $400 for 2x512MB of RAM originally anyways. Two of them will cost just under $400 and give you 2GB of RAM. These Patriots are rated for DDR400 at Cas 2 which is NICE. So it's doing 2-3-2-5 timings at DDR400 and 2.5v. What's not to like?

I would spend some more of that money investing in mics. 57's and 58's are all around decent mics, but your going to want and need some good condensers. The AKG 414 is a beautiful and awesome and high priced condenser. THe MXL990 has got a decent sound and is cheap as hell ($60). There's all sorts of choices, but if your going to be recording, next to the music itself and your skills at recording it, mics are pretty important.

Sage,
Thanks, yea, I'm going to experiment before I invest in any high end mic's as the choices are daunting.
The Shures were just to have something beyond the Oktava to record with and I'm told they're decent generic mic's.
At this point mic recording is relegated to vocals, acoustic guitars and voice-over work.
All of the other instruments are either line-in or digital.
