Shanti, Shanti, Shanti - you suck up to the R party but you don't know anyone that can get you a job? :D:beer: I gonna continue to deliver pizza to your repub brethren AND make more money than you. Use your Good Old Boy system. You know what that is, right?

First of all, fvck off you troll. This is not a politics thread.
Second, I voted for Clinton twice and I am not some republican loyalist.
Third, I already have a job, I'm just looking for a new one.
Trust me, I've done both and being a software engineer is a much much better job than food service.

If anyone has some constructive advice rather than flaming me because they don't agree with my politics, I would be appreciative.

Alright, I'm going to change the wording of the designed and developed part.
Any other suggestions before I start looking for jobs?

Thanks

Stress also that you are a team player and good in communications etc ... I hired a few grads which do not work well in a team and need to let them go after a few years.

Leave the GPA off..

I interview alot of people for SQA Engineers, and that would annoy me. Its almost as if your bragging. We can usually conclude from your diploma that you passed..

So, aren't you going to take DaveSimmon's advice.
If you did, please update your OP. (I can see no way you aren't going to do as he suggested, it's only logical, there are too many designed and developeds)

Also, why not link either a .doc or .pdf for us to see like most others asking for resume help. I only say this becuase it's difficult to guage certain things in plain text format.

Thanks,
AJ.

hi,
sorry for riding on this thread...but it just struck me because you have almost the same skills/experience like i have :)

Although, you have an advantage: You have a BS, and your most recent job was/is software developer.

The problem with my resume is that my last job was NOT in IT and i still dont know how i should word it, if i should leave it out all together, etc....

I'd highly appreciate it to get some input too for my resume...i have a MS Word textfile on
My Resume

Btw. i re-wrote this resume about a month ago because people gave me advice to re-structure - but still, basically since i left my last IT job at the ISP i am looking for a developer job... :( I can need any advice for improvement....

THANKS !!!

Um, that looks like the strangest resume I've ever seen. Your objective is almost at the bottom, you have essays for job descriptions, you provide your own commentary, it's 4 pages long, strange formatting, etc.

It's way too long.
99% of resumes should be one page and the other 1% can be a maximum of 2 pages (those with so much work experience, that it's tough to fit it onto one page)

I like the experience you have, but it might say to a potential employer 'I can't hold a job for long' (Obviously, this is not the case, you must be one of those guys who likes to sample life in differnent companies). I just think you should provide the most recent 2 and mention your best accomplishments in your cover letter.

By the way, how is your cover letter, that should be your selling point!

Here's my contribution:
Get rid of that strange formatting. And change the weird descriptions you have for the jobs. Maybe get rid of some of the job experience that is old or has little relevance. As said, it's weird to see some sort of personal commentary!

thanks for all the advice !

Tried to shorten and re-arrange..made it to 1 and 1/3 page...No question that 4 pages was way to much...
But it is extremely difficult to shorten more more without me feeling that i left out significant information :)
So far i have:
New Resume

I am quite aware that almost everybody has one of these objectives/summaries...should i just get rid of it ?
Where could i shorten more ?

thanks again !

Looks good Shanti. Nothing I'd change if applying for a development job, except for space reasons (then I'd cut the shopping cart school project first).
