Take a look at the gallery in the first reply, mess around with the aperature and shutter speeds to get different results.
 
Learn about your camera's apeture and shutter speed. Next, learn about composition. Otherwise, like what was said above, it looks like regular myspace shots.
 
If you want to get serious, then keep in mind that good images come down to vision. Everything else - interesting subjects, solid composition, and good lighting - is just a way of communicating it. Figure out what you want to say (the idea), and then figure out how to go about saying it (the technique).

As far as technique goes though, looks like everyone else covered most of it.
