Well, looks like there are already starting to be good deals as BF approaches. Anyway, this is what I have in mind. Please critique in anyway. I will use this for some gaming like hl2, source, maybe some of the new games like tf2, etc. My budget is around $1100. I will not be overclocking until a few months after I get this rig so I can get more money for a heatsink and whatnot.

How does this look? I have a question about the ram. FRYS has the patriot 2x2 for 90 dollers, should i take this over me 2x1 crucial, even though crucial > patriot? And are these patriots even the dx9 chip or w/e? Did I miss anything or are these all the parts I need?

Thank you so much for your time.

I'm getting errors from those links but just looking at the component names I can tell you its a solid build. I'd rather have Seagate 7200.10 drive but thats just my personal choice. A different monitor as well but again thats just a personal preference. Looks good.

Edit: Forgot to mention the video card. Normally, I'd say eVGA but with supplies low right now its pretty much whatever you are lucky to find. Stick to XFX, BFG, and eVGA. PNY has a model but I think PNY quality isnt as good as the others. The OC models are okay but you can just get a regular reference card and OC yourself. If you cant find a 8800GT then I'd suggest a ATI 3870.

I think the the 7200.10 is just a little better performance wise is all. As long as the HD has 16Mb Cache thats all that really important really. That new Samsung T166 drive is even better than the 7200.10 drives supposedly. About the same price too. As far as the monitor goes I'd get a 20" or a 22" but thats just a personal preference size on my part. I got a LG226WTQ(BF) and its absolutely fabulous. Easier on my eyes than a 20" LCD. Like I said though you got a good build planned out.
