Critique my build possibilities

Piecing together a new system to replace my X2 3800+/7800GTX system, have the following idea.
  • CPU: Q6600 - $280, also considering just a dual core if Quad core is unnecessary
    http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16819115017
  • Mobo: Asus Striker Board - $200 used off a friend
  • RAM: 2x 2GB Gskill PC6400 $175
  • http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820231122
  • GPU: 8800GTX - $500 OR also considering 640MB 8800GTS
  • Case: Silverstone TJ-03 Case (set in stone, I already own this case and will never get rid of it 😀 )
  • PSU: Unsure...want modular and dependable, have been happy with my NeoPower 480w in my current system. Spending roughly $100
  • CPU Cooler: Unsure...want max cooling with low noise, have been happy with my Zalman CNPS7700Cu in current system Spending roughly $50-60

The rest is pretty much standard, SATA hard drive, DVD burner, Vista 64 bit. Any advice or suggestions are greatly appreciated before I pull the trigger and buy this stuff.

Running this all on dual 2005fpw 20" LCD's at 1680x1050

    Thanks,
    Rich

Why the striker mobo, it's not that great for 200$, I'd rather get a p35 asus p5k or gigabyte ds3r for 135$. Ram is okay I think, only when overclocking though, otherwise it's cheaper to get 4x1gb, for 2x60$ AR, crucial ballistix. But yeah 4x1gb OC's harder then 2x2gb. PSU, go look for a 620hx, with 'some' luck you can get it for 100$ AR. http://clubit.com/product_detail.cfm?itemno=CA6200027 Don't skimp on the PSU when your spending 500$ on a videocard 😛 You could prolly get a 520hx as well, which is plenty of power for that rig, and costs 80-90$ AR. Cooler, I'd buy a tuniq tower 120 for 45$ AR at newegg.com.

e6850 vs q6600 is a tough call, If you're going to OC I'd go with the q6600, it will OC to 3-3.6ghz fairly easy more or less nullifying the difference in speed. When only gaming, and not oc-ing, I'd pick the e6850 over the q6600 though.
