Critical Patch breaks some IE6

Isn't this the third or fourth straight month of patches to patches???

According to the ******, the problem with 042 only applies to IE6 SP1, which is available on 2000 SP4 and XP SP1. XP SP2 does not have the version of IE that is affected.

I'm glad I found this thread. I'm using Win2000 and since updating a couple days ago Explorer has been crashing like crazy.

From what I've read here reinstalling won't work.

I guess I'm using Firefox for a while.

Jokes like this get old quickly. I used to find the old MicroBorg (we will assimilate you) jokes amusing; but that was 7-8 years ago and today I just find them annoying. The ?Just use Firefox? and ?M$FT? mantra are quickly becoming the same way.

Oh yeah, Cheerios sound pretty good about now. It?s time for breakfast 😀

Yep, ran into this issue after the latest updates on my W2K box. I uninstalled patches for the time being, according to MS bulletin a patch for the patch should be released approx 8/22 http://support.microsoft.com/kb/923762/en-us Workaround for now is to uncheck HTTP 1.1 in the advanced IE properties.

You should use the workaround and leave the patch installed until the update is released.
