okay, critic the build :D

case : corsair 600T
memory : G.skill 1600 2x4GB cas9
cooling : Corsair Hydro H70
mobo : ASUS P8P67 PRO
cpu : i5 2500k
optical : 2xasus sata cd/dvd drives

$795.93

I am going to reuse my 460GTX until they come out with something faster/cheaper.

I wouldn't bother with the PRO version of the motherbord, 8GB of DDR3 1600, or the H70. Knocking those down to what's below gets you pretty damn close to a GPU and platform upgrade.
- i5 2500K + UD3 combo
- DDR3 1333 4GB
- Stock cooler is good for 4.3-4.4Ghz

Hell, dropping the 600T down to something more reasonable gets you all the way there.

I think i'll get the HAF 932 ... all your damn posts is swaying me now Boomer.

mfenn, I already got the CPU/MOBO/memory ordered.

Why would I not opt for the pro? I know the dif ... and i'd like the intel nic, and at least 8x8x sli in the future. I also read that thread about 1600 being a 1-5% increase in FPS ... so I opted for it ... it was only a few bucks more, and I am already below my budget keeping the 460 GTX.

If I could have justified the extra cost, I would have bought the HAF X case.

HAF-X or the 800D are my dream cases, but they are just too expensive to justify the cost.

The reason not to get all of those things is their additional cost. A few bucks here and there adds up to you still using your GTX 460! :awe:

I ended up below budget .. so in a few months, I may end up getting a 580 GTX when the price drops to $400~, or 570GTX if that goes around $300. Because the 460GTX is playing all my games at high at this res without a hiccup.

I just want me some sandy bridge :-D...can't wait to get the new stuff in.
