Crisis of Conscience... Ebay Question.

OK, I know I'm not going to get sympathy here, but an Xbox 360 bundle just sold on eBay for $400 less than what I paid. I feel like the biggest a-hole in the world for considering backing out, but taking a $400 hit right before Christmas? Holy crap, I thought worst case scenario I'd break even. I wouldn't even know how to back out, I've had a 100% rating for over 5 years now.

I guess I started this thread looking for advice, but I figure at the very least I'll let all the people hating the Xbox 360 ebayers take a shot at me.

Cliffs:
1) I suck.

that's what you get for being greedy. the good thing about a free market is that for all those price-gouging aka hyper-inflated prices there are these where the buyer truly wins.....sometimes.

Holy crap, double post.

Well, the good news is that they can't do much to you. Just reject payment and you'll be fine, with a negative but you'll be OK..

if you will not live up to your contractual option, as per Ebay user agreement... tell the buyer that it was stolen or broken, take your neg and move on.

Your username does speak truth. This was not your brightest moment. Ever heard of a reserve price? Just ship it and suck it up..

Selling a high priced item so close to Christmas seems... stupid. It's too close to have it there on time.

Now, I might be mistaken, but I believe he is the buyer in this case and couldn't resist and bid and won an Xbox360 auction, but then later saw another auction that closed for considerably less money and now doesn't want to pay the person who's auction he won.

Sorry, they're right to criticize.

The thing I don't understand is that another auction with EXACTLY the same contents went for $700 more earlier today!

So where you the buyer or seller? Buyer, your never gonna win the "get the bang for your buck" war. One will always be cheaper. If your the seller, then you need to learn about this new thing eBay has...called a reserve...

I think the people paying so much are ebay n00bs. Out of curiosity, I just watched the final minutes of two 360's, one went for $900 and the other $860. The $900 auction was for a premium and 3 good games. The $860 auction was for a premium, that's all. Doesn't make much sense does it? The price on the $900 auction went from $650 to $900 in the last two minutes.

Are people that clueless that they can't find any of the other 8,000 auctions?

Are they so impatient that they think if they don't win THAT auction they will lose their chance and not have one for xmas?

Or are they so rich they just don't give a sh!t?

The reason your auction didnt do as well as you'd hoped is because you are a douche who likes to back out of stuff on ebay when it doesnt go your way. Id imagine if it sold for more than you thought but they didnt pay you, you would be on ATOT using your real forum name b1tching about how ebay people sucks so much.

As I said, I expected the deserved pile-on, so go for it.

That said, your reasoning makes no sense.

EDIT: Unless you're claiming "Karma"
