I called their 800 number to complain to someone... made the person who answered put their supervisor on, and tried to get that guy to put me in contact with whoever his boss was but that wasn't happening. Blasted them about 'how in the hell you going to run out of mushrooms', their ads go on and on about how awesome these supposed mushrooms are etc.
basically trying to get some free pizza coupons or something..

but alas, none were to be had

A little FYI, use the e-mail feedback form on the PPJ's website. The 1-800 number now refers you back to the store, the e-mail will be recieved by corporate, and if your store's district manager is good, he'll take care of it. At my store, I deal with any complaint via a personal phone call to the customer, and I will sometimes meet them in person (I'm the Assistant Manager of my store).

Sometimes food shortages cannot be controlled. I've run out of mushrooms before, but so many different variables can be to blame. Maybe the commissary dropped off a bad batch the last delivery, maybe the commissary delivery drivers forgot to give you mushrooms (happens more than you think, especially when the truck gets delivered after store hours), maybe the manager who placed the comissary order under ordered. It's unfortunate, but it happens - I understand your angry from your end, but try to be a little understanding. 😉

haha 😛 That said, I would have done the same (although, I have given out 30% discount cards before - today I had a customer who was really cool about the whole incident - we were out of chicken, and he wanted a chicken BBQ pizza, I apologized and gave him the card for his next order)

Papa John's sucks
Papa Murphy's sucks
Round Table sucks
Domino's really sucks

Pizza Hut is ok
Little Caeser's is greasy as hell but is ok

Costco is DAMN good!

But for anyone living in the Bay Area (Oakland or Berkeley in particular), they know that Zachary's blows everything away.

I think it should go without saying that any pizza joint with multiple locations that aren't numbered (e.g. Luigi's, Luigi's II, Luigi's III) are large chains and probably aren't that good. I would say that Papa John's is the best of the big chain pizza joints in my area, and I just love on-line ordering.

I already put my vote in for PapaJohns (because small chains are inconsistent.. and I h8 trying out all the crappy local pizza joints just to find the great ones, if you move around alot this presents alot of nights of crappy pizza).

But in the East/Central USA http://www.breadeauxpizza.com/ is some of my favorite. Papa Johns is the closest tasting large chain I've found.. but if you live in the east or central US unless the kids are being rowdy and not preparing it properly.. its my favorite "small" chain.

It encompasses about 3/5ths of the USA but its still not national. I'd recommend anyone who lives in one of the states listed on the site to try some.

Correct, except -- Local Pizza (i.e. Smokey's, Bellagio's, Pizza Schmizza, Leonardo's, Juliano's, Escape from NY, not Hot Lips) > Papa Murphy's > Round Table > etc.

That's not saying much.

The McDonaldization of the pizza industry continues!

God damn I love the little guy!!! Fvck pappa johns!

Great pizza can be had elsewhere. Trust me on this.

Yeah we do, our Anniversary special is running right now - buy a Specialty pizza at regular price, get a large one topping for free! 😉 We are the most expensive chain, and we don't have many sales, but we also don't sell you the same crap the other two national chains will.

Thanks! ordered for the office a boat load of pies via this offer... i didn't realize since there hadn't been any commericals that I caught... surely the website shows it.... great feeding... how long it's gonna last?

Greek? You mean Italian?
Greeks were the first to think of the idea of baking bread in round, flat shapes and adding things on top. But pizza was first created in Italy. Greeks didnt have any tomatoes 🙁
Yeah, but in the Northeast, at least, a LOT of indy pizza joints are owned by Greeks. Where the hell do you think all those "London Style" pizza places came from? They're owned by Greek ex-pats who first made their bones in England and then came here. I mean really, London style pizza?

Anyway, Greeks are loooong famous for being in the small restaurant biz. Check your next 10 diners, for instance. Eight will be Greek owned, my friend.

I concur. I'm Greek, and my dad knows sooooo many restaurant owners, they own like 75% of the restaurants in this county. It's nice though when we get free meals. 🙂

I got a call 40 minutes after ordering saying that THEY ARE OUT OF GREEN PEPPERS!!! OMG!!! On the plus side, this pizza is nearly free thanks to a mailer they sent out a couple weeks ago. But when will my $2.45 pepperoni-onion-tomato beauty arrive!!!!!

:brokenheart:
