I bought these the other day at target for like $35. I figured yeah, i wanna get all those soda stains out that i collected in high school. (i drink only juice and clear drinks now, but the abuse of 8 cokes a day in high school and early college has yellowed my teeth).

Anyways, i got rembrandt like whitening toothpaste kit, and these crest clear strips. Anyways in 4 days, i can actually see my front teeth getting whiter. (Its a 14 day thing). Sucks that they only go on your front teeth, but i guess my back teeth arent as bad.

It says to use to do the top teeth first 14 days and the bottom teeth the next 14 for an hour a day (half an hour for each strip, so 2 a day for the top and 2 for the bottom), but i am doing them at the same time, it doesnt seem to matter for anything but their satisfation guarantee. Its real easy to do, i just put them on when i'mbrowsing anandtech.

Anyways i figured i'd post this since i figure a lot of you drink a lot of soda or coffee and it might be helpful. SInce its prettycheap (compared to a pro place that charges $500 , or getting premade molds at the dentist for the peroxide stuff which this is also made of) i figured some of you might wanna try it.

I found a teeth-bleach kit at Walfart for like $8 ... It came with mouthwash, a rubber teeth thing, and bleach paste. It worked really well. I used it for one week and my teeth got so white that I decided not to use it any more... because I want my teeth to be white - but not the kind of white that looks weird and people thing you're made of plastic.

I find I have to use one of those kits like every year or so. Maybe one day I'll get smart and quit drinking soda and coffee.

I want to use one too, my friends GF is using one right now that claims to be permanent. Her mom paid $300 for it based on a dentist's recommendation. Her mom says good teeth are necessary in the real world, lol

hans - do you know if there are any 'side effects' to using this product? one of my friends tells me that products like that weaken your teeth in some way. i still don't care, i wanna give them a try cause i have those same coke stains that you do. now all i drink is water, but the yellow hasn't gone away...hehe.

well its not a bleach, the crest one is made of peroxide. it says enamel safe. like it doesnt work on like dentures and stuff, so i guess it actually cleans the stains out fromunderneath and not just bleach over them.

COOL!!!! I think i'll get some. 35 bucks is a lot for a poor college student like me, but I'll save some up.

Some whitening products supposedly damage and thin the enamel on your teeth, and such damage is permanent.

the concentration of bleach (HO) from the dentist is higher, works better.

the whitening strips are okay, according to the results the produce.

i recommend against getting any abrasive whiteners, such as rembrandt toothpaste due to the deterioration of the enamel.

Get this. The wife went to the dentist the other day and the dentist mentioned that she had seen three people come in with really good looking teeth that morning that had been using the strips. The dentists said " You can get the strips for $40 or pay me $300 to do the same thing, which would you decide? " Guess they work ;)
