Yeah. This is actually my favorite mouthwash. If it wasn't so expensive I'd use it all the time.

I have a bottle of it in my bathroom, and use it off and on because I never got into the habit of using mouthwash, but really should since I have never been one to floss. I think I may discontinue my extremely rare use of that product as it is. hmmm
guess I should get back to real mouthwash and use it daily like I should... good thing I haven't been using this stuff daily I guess.

as those above me have stated... I do really like the product, the taste, and it seemed to do good work... but the threat of the very thing I am trying to prevent? Enough to discourage use.

The taste thing, I only noticed after use and that was just what I expected... nor did I really try and taste anything, as I only had used it at night before going to bed.. and in the morning I never noticed any ill effects.

Maybe the browning is a result of what type of food intake the person has? Maybe the chemicals in the rinse end up reacting with different sugars or starches or something? I dunno, just rambling like usual now. :)

The Crest Pro Health toothpaste uses a specific chemical that causes staining on the teeth. The Crest packaging states this on the label. Most dentists dislike the product because it causes extra time deep cleaning a patient's teeth.

I just bought a bottle tonight at Walmart because it was the cheapest one that didn't have alcohol.

I just read my tube: Stannous Fluoride

May cause staining of the teeth. This is not permanent and can be removed by your dentist. Then it goes on to say that this toothpaste has been formulated to remove stains.

I've always preferred the Pro Health stuff because it contains abrasives, which I feel should clean teeth better.

ACT is great. Just remember to floss. All this fluoride is to strengthen your enamel. It does nothing if you have any perio pockets. ACT won't do anything if you have a large cavity.

Stannous Fluoride. Yep, that's the name of it. A poster on ATOT posted once about his dentist father disliking the Pro Health stuff. I haven't bought the stuff in a while, but I did like it because of the mild flavor.

EDIT:
Past threads:

Read Lord Evermore's post about it burning his mouth and destroying his sense of taste.

I remember using this about a year ago. I'd rinse, then spit, and these blue particles would come out of my mouth. Thought the mouthwash was eating away the inside of my mouth, so I googled it and found that this was a normal side effect of that mouthwash. Switched back to Listerine after that...

When they started bringing out these mouthwash things that don't have alcohol, apparently because a lot of people complain about the burning sensation, I was just sitting there going, thats why I love the alcohol based ones. The burning lets you know its working. I have pretty sensitive teeth and gums and its not a problem for me.

There was another thread on AT about a year ago where someone said it made their wife's teeth brown. I have used it for a while now with no ill effects. I have been told that I have "superteeth" though.

Actually the reason for the switch was because alcohol based mouthwashes have an "overly-drying" effect which can actually have a negative impact.

Been using it over a year, no effects like the ones described.

One thing, though. Do NOT use it within a few hours of using Colgate Pre-Brush Whitening Mouthwash. It will leave you spitting out the interior skin layer of your mouth. The two do not play well together.

I hate that stuff because it leaves blue chunks in the sink that stain. I'll stick with my orange Listerine, thank you.

This is their new cross-marketing thing. They're trying Windex instead of their usual mouthwash formula. Now alcohol free - replaced with delicious ammonia.

That Hubbard stuff is everywhere it seems. I wish I'd have thought to make up something stupid like that. The guy's got to be incredibly rich, making so much money off of stupid people. He's either insane (if he believes the stuff he writes), or else a truly inspiring genius.

i been using the pro health toothpaste for awhile now, although I don't brush every day like it should. haven't noticed any issues.
