Cremation or burial or cryo freezing????

So what would you prefer? I like the cryo freezing idea, but since it's so highly improbable, I would probably choose to be cremated. Mention any other choice if you like to and do not forget to mention your reasons behind it i.e religious, beneficial to society(eg. donating it to medical school for research) etc...

cremation.

At first, cryo-freezing seems like an attractive option. But then, you are running the risk that someone 5000 years from now will revive you and put you in a museum exhibit.

😕 why would you cryogenically freeze yourself when you're dead?
you're suppsoed to do that before you die.

People hope to reanimate their bodies after some future technology manages to repair it.

whatever is the cheapest. after i am dead i don't care what is done.

Like i always tell my wife. just throw me out in the woods for the wolves. it really does not matter.

Cremation, dead people shouldn't be taking up space. Land is for the living. I wouldn't mind being buried if it were natural (IE no coffin or embalming), burials in Western society are ghastly.

Where is the "shredded and eaten by wild animals" option?

Option added, that way is preferred by the Zoroastrian people in my nation. They leave the corpses to be slowly eaten up by the vultures.

The body is a worthless shell and I refuse to allow funeral homes to rape my loved ones through outrageous burial fees once I'm gone. They can take that same money and hold a party in my honor instead.

+1 for torn up by wild animals. Being part of the cycle would make my life complete. Being buried is a very unwelcome alternative, although I'm willing to accept being burned to ashes. Although if a pack of wolves can get a good feast, why burn the meat? Feed something.

I dont want to be buried. The costs of a burial are high and I dont want to put that financial burden on anyone.

I'd like to be cremated and scattered somewhere.

i'd like my dead body to be sent off a cliff in either a car (so it explodes) or into the ocean...so I'll wash up somplace and someone can poke me with a stick.

..NRA has an interesting program. You can be cremated then loaded into shotgun shells and sent to all your hunting buddies.

And there's that place that will cremate you and turn the ashes into a faux-diamond.

BURIAL AT SEA
Sea Burial Services for Veterans
Sea Services offers information about two Burial at Sea programs for military veterans and their families:
U. S Navy Program

The United States Navy offers a sea burial program free of charge for the following individuals:

Members of the uniformed services,

Retirees and veterans who were honorably discharged from any branch of the service.

Dependent family members of active duty personnel, retirees, and uniformed services veterans.

U.S. civilian marine personnel of the Military Sealift Command.

Both cremated and non-cremated remains can be buried at sea by the Navy. Families cannot attend the service which is performed at a time and date chosen by the Navy. After completing the necessary forms, the remains must be delivered to one of several ports where the service is available. Where a full body is to be buried at sea, the casket must be prepared according to Navy guidelines and transported by a funeral director at the family's expense.

More information about the Navy's burial at sea program is available here on Sea Services' site.

Although I really wouldn't care once I was dead, I prefer the idea of being cremated and scattered somewhere special, rather than rotting underground and being eaten by worms with a load of other dead people. Plus, I'd rather be burned alive than buried alive... hopefully that won't be an issue though.

Where is the option of pickling?
